Honestly, I hated the first couple of chapters of this book. Zorie was annoying, then the whole Brett thing was ridiculous, because he was ridiculous, not sure how she didn't notice that at first... Buttttt The Anatomical Shape of A Heart is my favorite contemporary ever, so I was like let me just proceed. And thank goodness I did because this is one of my favorite contemporary books this year. Given, this is the only contemporary I have read so far in 2018, but I'm pretty positive it will stay at the front of the line.

Then there was Lennon. He was all kinds of cuteness and funniness wrapped in a ball of swoon. Loved him! The setting was excellent, because camping, come on! Some of the drama could have been left aside, and I don't really see how they didn't talk sooner if they were best friends. But the story was funny, beautiful and addicting. I still haven't read Alex, Approximately, so I'll be checking that one out next!

First off, I think this is my favorite cover of all three! This series has such beautiful covers!

I was so glad to see more of Seb and Viv, and there were some surprises along the way, which I need to keep my lips sealed about! As with the other books in the series, it is told in multiple POV's, and it works really well because you can feel each character and how everything connects. I'm not sure who is my favorite! I have a soft spot for Atrox, though!

What I like best about Avalon Nightmares is there's plenty of swoony romance, but also a great story along the way. Plus, the whole Merlin type theme has been freaking amazing! The writing sucks you in right away and doesn't let go until the very end.

The third book drew to a perfect close, and apparently, there will be a novella about Atrox coming up. I'm already ready for that one!!

This was a story that was more than just being a succubus. This was a story about a girl that has to struggle. Struggle with herself, with her family, and with not ever being able to fall in love. It was an emotional ride but also full of lovely moments. The bond between Ren and Allison was sweet, swoony, and stressful! Stressful because her kiss can drain him and anything more might kill him. I loved Allison’s personality and the writing was really addictive! On to book two!

This is one of the best short stories I have read, and I can't wait to read the spin off novel, Fragile Chaos. Even though it was short, I could connect with Leander and really feel for him as I was inside his head. I wanted to pull him into a great big hug!

I liked Lyda's character, too! But watching her sanity slipping away was heartbreaking! I loved the writing and the beautiful ending in this!

Pretty dang unbelievable... which is fine because I love unrealistic stuff, but when you’re trying to be realistic ... come on. The author does string sentences together beautifully, though...

I was glad to see the sequel was finally out. Since it had been a while, I went ahead and reread book one, which I loved even more the second time around. So I went into this wondering where it would go? Would Allison stay a succubus, or could she rid herself of the horrific curse?

What I like best about this duology is that although it has a paranormal aspect, it is very much a contemporary book, which I absolutely love when those two are combined. Allison has been a strong character, especially with everything she has gone through. But this time you throw a creepy uncle and maybe some other obstacles in the way, and she has even more on her plate to conquer.

I will say this time around that my boy Ren thoroughly pissed me the heck off. Come on, Rennnnnnnnnnn! I know you are a teen boy, but think boy, thinkkkkk!!!!! I also wish there would have been more of him in this book like there was in book one, but this one was more of Alison needing to find herself and to figure out a way to give herself a normal life. The writing was well done, and the author had me sucked in page after page. I can't wait to read more from her in the future! I definitely recommend this fun and emotional duology.

This was a very satisfying end through this fun journey. Cleo and Magnus remained to be my favorite of all the POV’s! I still think Amara’s was pointless but that’s probably because she just isn’t my favorite! I also liked the magic in this one, especially some of the scenes with Cleo! Now, I just did the third book in the spin-off series to hurry and come out!

I loved this book! Sage and Alex are one of my favorite book couples ever. They make me happy, they make me mad, they make me want to yell at them while shaking them, and they make me swoon.

What I like most about this series is the setting. It's similar to The Winner's Curse trilogy where there isn't magic but the setting is historical fantasy. I think that is the right term, but don't take my word for it. Also the chapters are short which is the freaking best!

There are things that happen in the story that as a reader you know what is going on because the book is told from both of their perspectives yet they don't know what's happening. So there is a particular scene with a cell, and I was like, nooooooooo! Anyway, I already need the next book!

This book was so much fun! First, you have a wicked siren, who rips out a princes heart each year for her birthday! With her bare freaking hands! I loved Lira!

Then we meet Prince Elian, who isn’t just your normal boring prince, he’s pretty much a pirate! He had awesome integrity and was all about doing what it takes for humanity!

Also no insta love here. Thanks the deepest depths of the ocean! There was the perfect slow build, even with all the hate going inside of Lira. But after being transformed into a human by her witch of a mother, literally, she somehow has to find herself and maybe adapt a little to humanity as well.

Plus the octopus tentacle with that dagger on the cover! 😍

So this book has one of the most beautiful and alluring covers, even the writing within has lovely descriptions. The world building is amazing, and there is a lot of originality. My problem came with the story itself. There was so much beauty talk!

I know this is a book that should make you think about how our society is infatuated with their looks, and it does make you think. So that part does work. But I didn’t care about a lot of it!

The book did have some dark moments which was nice. But the Belles was filled with so many descriptions of food to the point where it was just tooooo much. And normally I love reading about food and want to eat the pages. But when there are too many food descriptions associated with skin color, it kind of feels like cannibalism because it makes me think of food and skin at the same time! Too weird!

I liked the main character, though! As for side characters—Auguste was underdeveloped and came off as more creepy than swoony. Every time he entered the page, I was like go away!

The twists were predictable, but I was fine with that part. However, the writing and a society obsessed with beauty was the highlight for me. Plus, there were all kinds of teacup animals!!
