I liked it a lot. Jace’s story was really interesting. I liked the balance between Brother Zachariah’s point of view and the one from young Izzy. And these references to characters from TID brought back many many memories. I also really appreciated seeing Raphael and Lily.

This one was painful. My poor little heart... I ended up in tears.

I love Anna Lightwood. My heart broke for her.
Kudos to a very supporting family as well. I adore seeing Cecily and Gabriel totally aware of who their daughter really was and supporting her in such a natural way.
I also liked seeing Brother Zachariah in the background, trying to find some informations for Tessa. So, her demon parent is actually a Prince of Hell?! I’m intrigued!

I feared this novella was going to be a miss for me. The beginning was pretty slow in my opinion, and filled with informations that were interesting, but I think were taking a lot of space, especially in a novella.
However, when the two characters appeared, and the reason of their presence in the Shadow Market was known, everything became so much more interesting. The second half was just too good for my little heart. I adored having Brother Zachariah as the main protagonist, instead of seeing him only as a background character, supporting the background story. I also loved Sister Emilia. Not only what she did for Brother Zachariah, but just her personality. I would love to see her again someday!
I absolutely loved the ending. And as per usual with these two, tears were rolling down my cheeks.
"There is nothing so sweet as feasting upon the bones of my enemies. Especially with you at my side."Will, my heart.

I had high expectations for this one. I mean, Tessa and Catarina as nurses? WWII setting? London? Jem? The Jessa "reunion"? On the paper, it had everything to please me, but the story just fell flat for me. Nothing really happens that left me being completely in awe. It was really cute, it was an enjoyable read. But I expected so much more for this reunion, especially when set three years afterWill’s death and given the few times they saw each other ever since.
On the other hand, and unlike the previous stories, I believe this one will have a higher importance for the rest of the Dark Artifices series.
I also really appreciated having the rest of the story of Tobias Herondale and his descendance. Catarina is an amazing character. I love her and I was glad to also have a little glimpse of the life she had after she saved the first of the lost Herondales.
I think the main issue I had with this story, and —thinking about it— with the others as well, is my deep attachment to all these characters, and especially Will, Tessa and Jem. So, of course, every time I see their names, read part of their stories/some of their memories or their interactions, it pulls the right strings. Maybe sometimes my rating is really subjective, and doesn’t take into consideration the actual story. This time, I somehow couldn’t see past that and it’s making me sad.
(100th book of the year!)

An interesting story from an interesting point of view. I enjoyed learning a little bit more about Céline Montclaire and the actions of the Circle. I felt bad for Céline, my heart is crying for her.
It’s probably just me but, thinking about the story and Céline’s life (or at least, the glimpse of it we are able to read here), I made a lot of parallels between her childhood and Jace’s. The way Jace was raised is close to what Céline went through as a child. She was assaulted, tortured, forced into thinking that she was and will never good enough. Valentine reproduced a similar pattern on Jace. That breaks my heart.
I also enjoyed reading about Brother Zachariah, making a breakthrough in his mission to find the lost Herondales. I was surprised and intrigued, and I’m hoping we will get more informations about them in the future.

What an amazing sequel Thunderhead is.
As per usual, this turned out to be more "me talking about my feelings", rather than an actual review. Sorry if that’s not what you were looking for. But thank you if you read it, I really appreciate it!
I’m usually never a huge fan of the second books in a series. Most of the time, they don’t live up to my expectations. That’s just how it is, and I’m sure a lot of people probably feel the same way sometimes.
That being said, that’s not what happened with Thunderhead.
This sequel was amazing. Following Citra in this new life as Scythe Anastasia, the danger that comes with this position, the new order that seems to rise quite literally from the ashes of the "Scythes" killed and gleaned by Rowan, before becoming Scythe Lucifer... it created a captivating story.
I loved the world created by Neal Shusterman, and his writing.
I loved the political aspect of this story.
I loved the relationships between the characters.
I loved the way the plot was unfolding.
There were many plot-twists, many things that left me in awe.
Scythe Curie owns my entire heart. I loved her in this book. I did cry buckets at the end. She would have been an amazing High Blade. I truly hope they’ll (meaning Scythe Faraday and Munira —by the way, I LOVE THEM TOO—) found a way to bring her back because she deserves to live more. I want her back. I need her to take revenge on Goddard (he won’t be called a Scythe by me. NEVER. He doesn't deserve this title and he can rot in hell.)
I also loved Greyson Tolliver. Not only he's a really interesting character, but his presence took a entire different path than I was expected. I knew he'll end up having a big part in the story, but not something like that. It's like he's the chosen one or something and I'm really curious about this new status of him. He's literally the only person the Thunderhead want to talk to, and/or acknowledge as worthy of its presence. I LOVE IT.
And finally, what I loved too was the Thunderhead. I was intrigued by it in the first book, but I really loved seeing how, somehow, this entity was growing towards humanity.
All throughout the book, the Thunderhead kept saying that it couldn't feel, act, be something remotely human. And of course it can't: it's an AI. But in some of its actions, the Thunderhead was also contradictory: it supported Rowan's action, it supported Citra, seemed to have a true attachement to Greyson, and so on. There are a lot of things that somehow made the Thunderhead close to feel like a human being could. And I really liked seeing that.
I liked how they try to find loopholes everywhere, how the Thunderhead had to makes things work when its own laws made it impossible. It was like a gigantic puzzle that couldn't be resolved unless you find the tiniest gap to act. I found it captivating.
However, there were tiny things that did bother me a little (but it's not really a big deal, just me being a bit picky). Some parts were pretty slow in my opinion, especially the little parts with the unsavories. I really liked learning about them, seeing how they were an important part of this world, despite being left aside, but yeah, unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. The characters I didn’t like that made their comeback. I don’t like them so I put them there, but let’s be real, it make quite an amazing story too.
Anyways, I 100% recommend this series and this sequel, and I just cannot wait any longer for the third installment!

Things I loved, among others:
- Rosemary’s story, and therefore Kit's story (though it felt close to [b:The Wicked Ones|38507976|The Wicked Ones (Ghosts of the Shadow Market, #6)|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1538419111s/38507976.jpg|60146098] because we already had some informations on what happened and why she was the Lost Herondale. But that was interesting to know that her and her husband survived that long, having her story from his point of view).
- Jessa. Do I need to say more?
- I love how it jumped almost right into Lady Midnight. It was really interesting to see what had happened right before Kit was found.
- And, of course, the big reveal:Tessa's pregnancy . I'm so happy!

My favorite so far. It has more than what I expected and wanted.
It was more dark than I imagined (trigger warning for sex trafficking, slavery, and abandonment) action packed, but there were also some funny moments and it was overall really touching.
Some of the things I loved, among others:
- The glimpse into the life of Alec and Magnus with little Max was the best. I love Max, he's adorable!
- Lily! Her story was heartbreaking. I really liked to see how she looked up to Raphael, how he mattered to her. That was touching. I hope we will see her more in the future! She also has the best nicknames for Jem/Brother Zachariah and I kept asking for more (by the way, Tessa asking for more nicknames was the best).
- Speaking of Tessa, I loved seeing her doing "real" magic, and not using only her shapeshifting abilities. Jem using his Silent Brothers tricks as also a really good surprise, and I really like that. And, overall, any Jessa moment pulled the right strings. I love them so much!
- I cannot mention Jessa without mentioning Will as well. I love him to pieces and whenever I see his name, I can't help but smile (and shed a few tears at the same time. Classic)
- On a similar note, I loved every little mention of parabatai, and also of Jace. *heart-eyes*
- We got new informations on the Lost Herondale and I loved that. I'm really intrigued.
- Rafe is just so cute, adorable, and his story was so touching.
- Robert/Alec: maybe I ended up in tears.
It got me even more excited for the [b:The Red Scrolls of Magic|30295312|The Red Scrolls of Magic (The Eldest Curses, #1)|Cassandra Clare|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1528915777s/30295312.jpg|50775355]! (but I'm sorry, the cover... I don't like it. It feels cheap and it also bugs me that it doesn't match the other series...)
