This was a great financial self help book that covered many different topics.
A lot was information that I think of as common knowledge but it's helpful to have it all in one book.
While this didn't "change my life" it definitely gave me the much needed push to get my financials in order asap!

It took a really long time to finish this one and I think it was because it wasn't a book I would normally read.
I don't think it's a bad book but I do wish it focused less on the "romance" and erotica and that it was more wholesome.
My sister described this as an "urban cozy mystery" and I think if I had that mind set going into reading this I would have enjoyed it more.

I love the characters in the book. Every single person introduced was very well fleshed out and very realistic.
I like how no one is perfect and they all feel very real and relatable.
I love the plot as well, my only issue is that the ending was a bit abrupt. I had no inclination that the ending was near and I was very confused when it stopped. I wish the ending could have been fleshed out more and felt less abrupt as nothing seemed to actually be resolved. Other than that I enjoyed this book and all it's diverse characters!

I so badly wanted to love this little novella but it just didn't come together.
The plot was super slow with a lot of characters, dialogue, and situations that were unnecessary and added nothing to the book. A lot of fluff and filler and not enough substance.
I wish this book was more fleshed out because I think the concept is really interesting but this feels, dare I say, very much like a juvenile writing assignment that was done to fulfill a homework grade. 😬😬

I loved watching Laure decend into a more wicked person with each chapter as the world around her continued to belittle and cast her aside, however I can't give this 5 stars as I wish the climax of the book was more gritty. I hated how weak Laure was in the climax, I wanted her to fully become the beast, but I guess I understand why she couldn't considering who she was facing off against. I will definitely be on the look out for any other work by this author!

This book is listed as a memoir, but it reads very weird.
It is very conversational and meanders from thought to thought with out much continuity.
There is not any concrete statistics backing up much of what is discussed dispite the cover alluding to a study done on children. Not that much of the information is untrue, but I would have enjoyed some statistics to back it up.
I would have enjoyed this book alot more had it not been a memoir and if it was just a case study. It just reads very weirdly and semi-self centered.
This also has the longest chapters i have eveb seen in a book, it definitely needed more chapters to break it up or at the very least parts within the chapter.
Not my favorite memoir, it feels more like the initial rough draft of just getting ideas down instead of a fully fleshed out memoir. It really would have benefitted from a heavy edit and review process. 😬😬

Written very well but I wish there weren't so many points of view. The amount of hate I have for majority of these characters is astronomical. I think it is an important story to be told but I cannot finish the book.
I wish we only had Samuel & Isaiah point of view.

This was a delightful read, I enjoyed the realistic characters and their portrayals as well as the choice to have the book be told through diary entries.
