The best part about Tress, by far, is the style. It is told like a classic fairy tale and feels like one. I love watching Tress grow as a character and a person, and this world is just so unique and beautiful. And Hoid, as a narrator, was super fun! I enjoyed the tone of this story, and I can’t wait to read it to my kids some day. If you're looking for more hardcore fantasy, this is not it. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it!

Not a new favorite, but one of the funniest, unique sci-fi books I have ever read.

Not my favorite book in the Where of Time so far, but still magnificent.
I did really love the focus on Tar Valon, the magic system, and on the trio of the accepted. I love the series magic system, and it was amazing getting to see a lot more of it, especially from the users perspective.

Not Sanderson's best work, but not his worst either.

I was really disappointed by this book. I much prefer the first one, which I feel was better paced and overall more enjoyable of a story. What really killed me here was the love triangle, and how it ended. It got annoying, fast, and the ending pissed me off. The book was not utterly terrible, however.

It was ok, but I found it very predictable. The prose was also not very good.

If your thinking about rereading this book to get nostalgia, especially if you read it as a kid, it will not disappoint. I convinced my middle-school aged sister to start the series, and she loves it and is already on book 3.
