This was just really magical. I listened to the audiobook, but I ordered a copy of the illustrated anniversary edition and I'm super glad I did because the illustrations they included are some fanart and they are gorgeous (but I'm glad that I didn't see them as I was reading it).

Anyhoo, I really just enjoyed learning about how she dealt with being forgotten so quickly and Henry was a great character as well; lots of really great characters and intrigue. Definitely a re-read for another time (and probably a re-review because I waited way too long to try to write a review for this).

Oh god, my first 5 star of the year, it's so beautiful, I am dying on the inside and the outside. I honestly feel like I have to start this all over again right away, that's how much I loved it. And it isn't because I didn't predict what was happening (because I did, about like 40% of the way through or so), but because it was so well written and probably the best, slowest of slow burns (but also NOT a slow burn?) and this cool scifi concept with a lovely historical backdrop.

Truthfully, I just need to shove my face into a pillow and scream for a few hours because fuuuuuuuuck I loved this so much. This gives me the same feeling that The Starless Sea did when I finished it. Just that amazing wonderlust where you're always on the edge of your seat expecting the worst but good things happen even though bad things do too.

I am off to read all of Natasha Pulley's books immediately.

So I'm sure this wasn't a perfect 5 star for most folks, but there is a bit in this book that moved me to tears that was very validating for me as a bisexual and basically spoke exactly to me and how I have felt as a bisexual ever since I first thought I might be bi (I went through about 15 years of not even calling myself that for various uncomfortable reasons) so this hit my so fucking hard that I was sobbing for a long time just thinking about this.

So yeah, sometimes even when the story is just alright, there's something in there that hits you so damn close to your heart that you can't do anything but give it 15 out of 5 stars.

I'm not sure this brought anything new to the table as far as the original is concerned. It wasn't bad, but after going through the previous story, this just doesn't really stand well against it.

Wow, I am blown away. What an amazing way to kick off Pride Month this year. I only wish it had been longer so I could keep reading. This book is both desolate and uplifting, horror and beauty. I can't recommend it enough as it delves deep into the human conscious while it navigates that scifi landscape many of us love to call home. Without getting too mushy and without revealing anything, I can only say to give it a read.

Obviously predictable and feel-goody, but still made me laugh my ass off and swoon all at once. This is basically the stuff I like to write and like to read and I'm in love k thnx, Alexis Hall.

Absolutely loved this, even though it's one of those books where I am kind of walking through it like 'what exactly is going on right now' quite a bit. Enjoyed the characters and the places and the spooky bad guys; it all just felt like a fun piratey adventure that didn't stop.
