Highlights:
Willa and Gren were amazing! I loved how much they care about each other especially Willa. She has such a kind heart and so much empathy for Gren. I loved both Gren and Willa's tragic backstories. Willa's was especially interesting because of how it informed all her character decisions and was tied in super well. I also liked the idea of resonance not going perfectly. I really liked the new clan members and new girls and how they're forming their own community together.

Horn Level: 5/5

Highlights:
Tessa and Zakiar have great chemistry and banter together. I really liked the concept of this grumpy mechanic cyborg man and a sassy dancer. They had a really interesting dynamic.

Lowlights:
Zakair annoyed me sometimes because of how in his own head and insecure he was. Like sir you are a bad communicator and make many assumptions. I gave him a pass because he literally has one person in his life and he works for him so he's not good with interpersonal relationships.

Horn Level: 5/5

But whether she realizes it or not, she will not escape me. She is my prey and if she isn’t careful I will devour her.

Highlights:
I love the tone of this book. Snow's inner-monologue was funny and lighthearted. I liked how fierce she was and how she talked back. Azogg is perfect! He is still the gruff and warrior archetype of orcs but none of the cruelness. He also knows when he's wrong and how to grovel. I loved seeing orcs not be these evil brutish creatures for once and made to be equal to humans. This made me love the world building a lot!

Lowlights:
I wish badly that this book was longer! I feel like their relationship could've been developed much deeper outside of the fated mates aspect which would've improved an already wonderful relationship for me.

Ra's Mini Review!~

Characters:
Percy is my son forreal. I loved his anger and bravery. I loved that he felt like a kid with flaws and impulsivity. Grover is such a great balance to Percy and Annabelle. My sweet little empath. He too has a goal and ambition but his shyness and cation balances Percy's impulsivity and Annabelle's warrior mindset very well. He too is my son. Annabelle is so smart and determined. I liked that she has her own desires and goals for going on the quest and has a lot to prove to herself.

Plot:
The story is very straightforward and I liked the world building. The pacing was great especially when the trio begins the quest. I do feel like it was tiny different bits over and over but that's what a quest is. They aren't slogged down with long bouts of exposition. I wish there was much more emotional weight to the story but that will probably happen later.

Secret Sauce:
I loved randomly recognizing easter eggs from greek mythology before they are reveled.

Rating: I give this book a 3/5

Lowlights:
When reading these I purposefully skipped this book because the reviews were so mixed. The vibes in this book are really low and not fun. Everyone is fighting and super pushy, more so than in the original IPB books. It feels yucky. I'm still lost why Dixon wrote all the female characters as so mean and disconnected from each other in comparison to the IPB girls. I didn't care about the big dinosaur bird. Nor did I care much for Hannah and J'shel.

The Good
Cassandra is an interesting character. I love how she puts her needs and her sister before anything. Apollo is a great male lead. He is down terrible, he likes her so much. I like the plot here more than the previous book in this series. It's interesting to hear about the boundary and the creation of Olympus. The fake dating set up was great and I liked how their relationship progressed into them admitting their feelings for each other. The build up to their relationship and their chemistry was amazing. I loved that they both liked each other before hand and that they understood and cared for each other so much.

The Bad
I felt like the plot was so drawn out. This might be because I don't often read mysteries and want answers more quickly.

Highlights:
Maddie is amazing! I live how confident she is and takes what she wants. She is a glass sibling who suddenly doesn't have that responsibility and feel lonely and lost. Hassen and Maddie's relationship developed really well. I like these stories where the ticking clock of the resonance isn't hovering over their heads and they can just bond. I understand why Lila is not as close to Maddie as before but I feel as though she is still being a bad sister. Like at least try to include her when you can and don't completely only focus on your new man.

Lowlights:
The way Hassan talked about Lila as "weak and weeping" when he is the one who literally kidnapped her is crazy. Like of course she just cried and flinched away from you... You kidnapped her and hid her in a cave. An issue I have with this series is that the other women should completely understand why the new women are completely used to the new planet but also are also holding Maddie's behavior against her. Like sorry she didn't wake up from being abducted by aliens and then her sister being kidnapped with a smile. They also aren't actively teaching her anything yet expecting her to have wilderness skills they didn't have when they arrived.

Highlights:
I absolutely love Summer! Warrek and Summer have a very fun dynamic, he's quiet while she's an absolute chatter box. I loved the action in this story, it's very different from any of the other stories so far.

Lowlights:
I feel like I needed more *umph* from this couple. They were cute but I didn't feel a deep connection.

Horn Level: 5/5

Highlights: Ainar and Naomi are so sweet and charming together. I prefer couples like these than the angry caveman type.

Lowlights: The miscommunication was a but silly but not drawn out so it was forgivable. They simply didn't know each other long enough to be able to communicate well which is realistic.
