Highlights:
This was a very different book than any other in the series. This had three povs and focused on Claire, Asha and Hemalo. I loved seeing Claire and Ereven again. They are a super sweet couple. Hemalo and Asha's relationship was rough as they didn't understand each other and responded differently to their trauma.

Lowlights:
This was an interesting book because I liked how different the story was but it also felt very slow and a little boring.

Horn Level: 2/5

Highlights:
Sunny and Khell'ar have amazing chemistry and an interesting dynamic. The mate aspect was done well as well as the framing of the sex work. The author obviously cares about acknowledging sex work as a legitimate form of work that does not always end up with romance and I appreciated that.

Lowlights:
I hate to be that person but I wish there was more of them dating and connecting outside of sex in the last third of the book. I also could not take the 'Petal' nickname seriously it make me chuckle.

Characters:
Fredericka is a strong-willed, modest, unmarried woman who is looking for a husband in order to maintain guardianship of her nephew and nieces. I absolutely loved both her and the kids. Fredericka knew what she wanted and who she was.

Wyatt is a duke with a wild reputation who with plans to put marriage off for as long as possible. These plans are dashed by his late Grandmother's who's will requires him to marry in seven days. Wyatt had the mark of my least favorite MMC's which is what I like to call a 'love-phobia'. Character's like this either have incredible arcs or give me the ick. Wyatt fell into the ick category for me a lot because was so bad at thinking about what he said before he said them but also angry she couldn't read his mind. He was judgmental, argumentative, and stubborn with no charm nor enough groveling to fix it. (And no, the sad childhood incident was not enough.)

Plot:
I love marriage of convenience stories especially when both parties are on the same page and both get something they need out of it. I also love stories with children in it, especially since these children were adorable and well written. The pacing was great and didn't linger from plot point to plot point. I wished the real romance came sooner, 50% through the book they still had no real emotional connection to each other just physical. There disagreements on how to raise the children frustrated me to no end. Wyatt would be more valid if Fredericka was more extremely strict but she wasn't at all. He also was gone most of the time and when he was there he criticized her methods and somehow thought he knew what's best. Even at the most critical parts of the story he's gone. Their issues after that are magically solved in one argument.

Secret Sauce:
I thought their banter was good at first but the longer they kept have disagreements on almost everything the more it made me think they were just simply incompatible. But alas they are supposedly in love.

Rating: I give this book a 2/5

This novel was about a a farm girl participating in a semi-competition for a sponsored season in London with Aunt of the man she believes stole land from
her family's estate. During her stay, their differences dissipate and they begin to fall in love.

The Good
The romance scenes and banter was good overall. I enjoyed them getting to know each other and teasing each other a lot. The pacing of their relationship was also done well. The set up was also something I haven't seen before.

The Bad
The 2 star rating could tell you I didn't enjoy the book overall. My main issue was the male lead, Robert. His backstory was one that is a trope that is very overdone in historical romance. His overall asshole-ness and selfishness was never developed from how it was i. the beginning. I was 82% through the book at he was still terrible. I understood why Charlotte would like him but the author did not endure him to the audience. Worse, was that there was NO GROVELING. After having sex with her, he THEN finally decides to marry her and can barely utter the words. She refuses rightfully so, but after two weeks of off-page development he finally comes and says he loves her so she jumps for joy and agrees. Did his trust issues suddenly disappear? His lack of any impulse control? His selfishness? I guess so through the power of love he is obviously fixed and no further development is needed. I think some of the events they did for his aunt could have been sacrificed for lengthening the end and seeing him improve as a person and dealing with his issues.

Highlights:
Mayumi is my favorite lead of the series so far. She's badass, bossy, and confident. She is also a into the demon/monster men from the jump which was interesting since she was a demon slayer. Faunus was fun. He was both a protector and willing to be bossed around by Mayumi. It was harrowing to hear how the Demon King tortured him and how that affects him long term especially with his cracked skull. I enjoyed learning more about the demon slayer guild and how they operated.

Most of all, I want us to go to bed holding each other like this every night for the rest of my life.

Highlights:
I loved the previous book in this series so I was really excited to read this one! Kaethe is awesome! I really liked her in the previous novel and was excited to see her story. I LOVED Bazur! He was quiet, grumpy and bad at jokes but he also was incredibly kind, protective and genuine. Insta-love/lust is common but this book introduces a new type of dynamic into the mix that added some level of miscommunication that didn't linger on for too long.

Lowlights:
I felt the brother arc didn't pay off enough for me. There was so much lead up to the reveal that I thought it was going to be very important to the final act and it wasn't really. It was probably more realistic that it wasn't super overdramatic but I didn't love it.

I give this book a 4/5

After her hands are damaged by her father, Lucy leaves home to become a piano teacher in London. One lesson leaves her drugged and confused and awoken by Max, an Earl, who's step-sister has drugged Lucy in order to escape to her Aunt's home. Max employ's Lucy to go with him to follow Lucy and discover her love affair. During this trip, the two slowly develop feelings for each other.

The Good
I liked Lucy a lot. She had her own desire and wants and her lust/like for Max never caused her to abandon them. I loved when she said "“You would certainly not get the opportunity to, Max, believe me.” I wanted to stand up an cheer. I liked the plot because it was something I hadn't read that before.

The Bad
Max's character got better towards the end, but for the first half of this book I hated his character. I think the amount of comments on Lucy's appearance were unnecessary and made it so I was shocked a little when he wanted to kiss her. I also found his comment that she was "someone else who attracted violence" when it was clear someone had harmed her hands... she is a victim of something. It was hard for me to really root for him and care about his issues. I also did not enjoy the ending of them not just cutting off her parents.
