buffyreads 's review for:
Captured by the Orc General
by Charlotte Swan
Most of all, I want us to go to bed holding each other like this every night for the rest of my life.
Highlights:
I loved the previous book in this series so I was really excited to read this one! Kaethe is awesome! I really liked her in the previous novel and was excited to see her story. I LOVED Bazur! He was quiet, grumpy and bad at jokes but he also was incredibly kind, protective and genuine. Insta-love/lust is common but this book introduces a new type of dynamic into the mix that added some level of miscommunication that didn't linger on for too long.
Lowlights:
I felt the brother arc didn't pay off enough for me. There was so much lead up to the reveal that I thought it was going to be very important to the final act and it wasn't really. It was probably more realistic that it wasn't super overdramatic but I didn't love it.
