UGH.
UGH.

also a fun little Christmas story. not that long though. can't wait to read The Raven King.
It's a nice little story but it's so short that I can't really say a lot about the depth or something like that.
The art in If... is a joy to look at! It demonstrates that our imagination can take us anywhere. I would not want to spoil the art for you, so go ahead and take a look for yourselves.
The Very Last Leaf is about Lance Cottonwood. He is at the top of his class with A's in wind resistance and photosynthesis. However, Lance is afraid to fall. But after talking to his nice teacher Mrs. Timber, he knows that it is okay to be scared and let's go... And graduates on top of his class!
This picture book took me by surprise. I had no idea that it can enable parents to talk to their children about being scared and anxious. But that is precisely why I think this would make such a good book to read to your children.

Received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I adored Love Your Body. I think self-love and self-care is such an important message. I truly wish I would have had this picture book when I was younger because I still needed the message this book had. The book also has tips on how to handle negative thoughts which I also think is so important. I like to think if I had had this book when I was younger, I might have been a bit kinder to myself about my beautiful body. Even now, I need to be reminded to be kind to myself.

Men to Avoid in Art and Life is a hilarious book where modern feminist commentary is put next to art pieces. My favourite part is the Sexpert and the book really took off when that section started.
All in all, if you look for a short book which has you laughing out loud, this is the book you need.

Educated is the memoir of Tara Westover, a woman who grew up in a very conservative Mormon family and never went to school until she was 17.
The memoir has won a lot of prices, thus, when I saw it was a Read Now on NetGalley, I could not withstand the temptation to pick the book up. Do I regret it? No. Would I reread this book anytime soon? Also no. But I do think this book was so interesting since Westover lived a vastly different life compared to myself. It makes me appreciate the privileges I have like my education and how normal it was for me to pursue a university career (even if I don't know what to do with it now. That might even underscore it).
I read in someone's review that everyone with higher education should read this book. I do not fully agree with it but I understand their point because the book shows that higher education is not universal right (yet, hopefully). If you are interested in Westover's story, be sure to pick it up. She has quite the story to tell.

Spoiler
I found that Tara was so brave to pursue her education up till the point she even got her PhD in History in 2014. She endured abuse and lost contact with most of her family which you would not wish upon anyone.TW: abuse
It was so fun to return to some of my favourite characters. I love their dynamics and this short story has some nice references to our situation right now. It's a short read so really nice for when you are bored during self-isolation.
A Quick & Easy Guide to Consent is wonderfully informative and important for everyone. I truly believe anyone from the young teens and above can (and should) read this short graphic novel. Maybe you will even want to fill in the quite extensive checklist about what you consent to, for yourself but maybe also to share with your partner.
The guide covers several scenarios and answers questions in the form of conversations between couples and Sarge Yes Means Yes (they/them).
Consent is always good to talk about but if you don't know how you can show them this short graphic novel.
