Please excuse me while I go curl up & cry for a little while after finishing this one.

On another note, I loved the numerous ties this book made back to the Chamber of Secrets, possibly my favorite book up until this point. The Half-Blood Prince quickly became a new favorite in the series & held many cozy, vivid reading sessions as I made my way through the book. I found myself deeply immersed in the story & growing very fond of the characters. A very emotional read at times.

Overall, this was a beautiful book in so many ways. 

A cozy read for most of the book, very emotional at times, but for the first time in the series I never experienced the bizarre plot twist as I’d come to expect by now. A different book in some senses but still a very worthy read in the grand scheme of it all - and a lot to consider after finally turning the last page, leaving me ready to begin the next. 

Wow. Just when I think there can’t possibly be another plot twist I won’t see coming, Rowling does it again... and again... and again... and just for good measure, AGAIN.

Each tiny little detail, intricately woven together, is magic. All at once heartfelt, tragic, hopeful, and courageous - what a story to lead us into the next. 

Probably would have given this five stars if I would have had the time and mind space to read this one more consistently as a whole. The last chapters of this book were wild and wonderful, well worth it. Definitely felt different from the first two but very satisfying.
