Read for the "all ages comic" category of the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. Pretty cute; I'm glad kids at my library are checking out a book about a black princess who takes down sexism.

I need a picture-books-i-read-at-the-circ-desk-because-they're-short-it-took-thirty-seconds-don't-judge-me shelf, which would overlap mightily with the picture-books-that-nearly-made-me-cry-in-public shelf. This one would be on both.

I would have liked a story set farther in Poe's past. Even so, this is a solid first issue, with pretty art, interesting secondary characters, and a cliffhanger that promises more action. Let's be real here: I'm not going to complain about getting more Poe, no matter how I get him. So I'm already looking forward to the second issue, and will probably add this title to my pull list.

I haven't been feeling Saga as much lately, but this was a satisfying issue. Although, if two things had gone differently, I don't know if I would be able to continue reading. Which is probably a lie, because Stockholm syndrome has set in for me with this series. But I would at least take a break.

I put off reading this issue for awhile, which I sort of regret, because #25 is ON FIRE. Great plot progression, great lines, great art (because duh). Woden's Harry Potter reference, Cass's vulgar outburst, and "chaotic evil is the new black" made this issue for me.

Ugh. At this point Saga just makes me feel terrible every single issue.

I'm still ambivalent about the more superhero direction WicDiv has taken the last several issues. This one wasn't a standout for me.
