4★ for the characters
3★ for the plotting and scheming
4★+ for the sex scenes
.
I'm not used to reading historical romances, so that might have tarnished the experience, but whenever the Earl had to get on with his business for the crown I was pretty much bored to sleep.
I did like some scenes though, especially the ones where the plotting against a blackmailing ring was led by the Earl in question AND his friends (hilarious) and when the Earl and Amanda were bound together, and the way they overcame their fears, together

Funny, moving, super-sad, and even meaningful sometimes (all the thing you read about it are quite true)

3 1/2
I was pretty much bored/preached for more than half of it, was labeling it as massive disappointment, because it had such good premises (dystopia/internet in our brains/language getting poorer and poorer/Atwood vibes) but not such a compelling display, and then reached the final part, and everything got intense, and a real perception of feelings and emotions and anger, and I finally felt invested in that world.

This was a charming, hilarious, poignant book. It picked me from the title because it's definitely me.

The writer is a shintrovert who finds herself in an unhappy place (cold London, all friends abroad, lonely) and decides to go through a year of extroverting.

If you ever dreaded your birthday party so much you told friends and family only the day before, or every time you had to talk to a group of people, or generally be the centre of attention, then you'll relate so much you'd think you might have written it (if you ever dared doing the crazy things she had done during the year)

The writer is honest, open, she makes you feel every single moment of the challenges she bravely submits her to, being totally funny

So since I know most strong readers and fellow bookstagrammers here are as introvert as I am, and as the writer is, I'm basically sure you'll love it.
"I love you all. The quiet ones, also observing, who are witty and thoughtful and want to leave early with me"

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Slow burn, endless hilarious banter, trigger warning: rape on one side/abusive father on the other. (Mostly) relatable reactions. Steamy, likely scenes.

Although I had to wait till 25% to get into it, and wasn't sure what else was to be said after reaching 75%, I loved it. Loved the characters, fragile and yet both sort of bossy to each other, loved Graham a real lot (always joking yet serious and cheesy and incredibly understanding and sweet and friendly), and loved all BREAKING BAD references!

really glad I picked this one with a group of special ladies

Un figlio accanto alla madre nell'ultimo anno di vita di lei. Accanto altre vite, il padre, la ragazza, la videoteca
Ovviamente doloroso, e intenso, molto vero spesso.

this must be the best most epic and most insightful graphic novel i've ever read, i can't believe i've waited 37 years before reading and i can't believe there are comic-books lovers who has yet to read it (as for all non comic-lovers i actually slightly pity you cause you won't have the chance to try this amazing work of art)

Now, rumbling a part, I had been put off by the art, old-school kind of, and because i thought it might be too gross for my liking, men was i wrong. There's dwelling on concept of Time (which i always cave in) there are huge moral dilemmas, there are characters so flawed and yet so amazing somehow, there's rape, love, humanity at its lowest and highest, major accidents, miracle of life, horror of deaths, comics inside comics, it's huge and i can't stop marvelling at it.

it's amazing, just amazing, plain amazing. that a human being came up with this fills me with awe, then i look at Alan Moore, and think, well, he must be otherworldy.

3.5
It has things I really really liked, the girl having a massive dog, many tattoos and piercing in some delicate places (both delicate places, which makes for 3 piercings), tissues mentioned after sex, which is something real yet never seen before.
Loved the gentleman yet brute at times character, and the fierce girl
It just didn't really carried me away for some reason, but still a good one

4 1/2

Plump woman and appreciative growling dirty talker man
Deals with psychological abusive parent, adoption, fear of rejection, overcoming one's tendency to always apologize, always being afraid to stand up for one's self.

Slow burn, but totally worthy

Family dynamics that get more and more interesting

Loved it

A 5yo who can read Dickens and Steinbeck and make all sorts of calculations is of course one to be loved. Didn't expect her to have super power, though
liked it, but no head over heels
