Short stories, poems, plays, with some really stunning voices, say Kamila Shamsie or Selma Dabbagh. A great way to discover writers AND a really good view on racism and being a woman

This is what I usually look for in a romance: fun, page turner, stay up past bedtime, wake up and first thing read a bit, banter every two pages, 🔥. Loved how Rome lost it despite himself, loved how sassy and outspoken Peyton is.

Although it's an extremely lyrical prose, with some Neil Gaiman recall, Sandman of course, and it has some great tricks (black pages and weird fonts), it felt a bit flat unfortunately...

It's more a 3★1/2
Female character: LOVELY, quirky, odd, nuts, a blondie all heart with some bizarre habits and attitude ❤️
Make character: too on the dark brooding side, sometimes a real jerk, no matter the reason

Thing is: I don't like drama in a romance. I like it fun and easy, and although this stated that way, there's a massive thing towards the end which turned the story into too dramatic shores. That said, she was awesome!

On darkness darkness darkness
There's not much anyone can say anymore about it

I very much like Jackson, this quiet, super shy, kinda bear chef, and even more so Sadia, no-nonsense, assertive in bed, flawed woman. As usual with Alisha Rai, I like things like panic attack, managing anxiety and dealing with family dynamics in a romance, notwithstanding its HEA. Guess I like this writer!

I'm not sure if it's a 4 star kind of romance or 3. If you're looking for a lighthearted romance, keep looking, this is not it. There are mental health issues, dysfunctional families, lies and secrets, and tons of pain. It's pretty much intense, and yet full of heartwarming thoughts and teachings.
Then of course it is a romance, so it is steamy, 🔥, and romantic, and it'll make you feel good

What a drama, what a mess of feelings and bad luck and misbehavior and love and marriages and gamble alcohol gossip and on and on

Ooooh the laugh, oooh the seriousness beyond laugh. Love this woman is all I can say
