This book was so much fun to read. Set in a steam punk paradise of 1920s Egypt were magic is so common they have their own agency to handle things when stuff inevitably go awry. I loved that this book had so many sci-fi and fantasy references just sprinkled throughout the book which gave me a point of reference but also did not take away from the incredible world building.  The MC was wonderful and the plot and mystery kept me guessing till the end! Great LGBTQ+ Representation As well.

This story focuses on Nora and how she has spent the last five years being overlooked and under appreciated in her job working at a publishing house. I thought this was a romance so I was expecting more between her and Andrew Santos but it really is a story about her journey on learning to take a chance on yourself and finding something new. Having just left my job of five years to start something completely new, I could relate to Nora on that in a lot of ways. The story did get into a lot of details about the publishing world that just overwhelmed me and lost for a bit, but I did enjoy the over all themes of the book. It was cute.

This book was really cute and Tessa Bailey was the queen of dirty talk. I felt like she invested so much in the characters and then left them out to dry to start setting up the next book with the sister and the friend. The ending was very unresolved for me.

Enjoyed it but the plot lines tended to get a little overused.

“Eros will take your heart”
I can never say no to a man that will burn the world down to be with what is his. Y’all this book is so good. It is different then Neon Gods in that the themes are heavier and our characters have to grow so much. I read it in a day and now it will live on my head rent free for all time.

Great historical romance. I really liked the heroine was a all business woman who had no time for a willy nilly Viscount.
