Reread in preparation for House of The Dragon and I'm still obsessed with this book. Love seeing the different tellings and I'm so excited to see The Dance of The Dragon come to life.

The writting is nice and I liked the characters but the political discussions in this book made me extremely uncomfortable. It's harder to glamorise monarchies and political positions when the real life implications are constantly shoved in your face. They're out partying three seconds after mentioning how the royals are colonizers, and while pointing it out is nice it also leaves a bad taste in your mouth for the more light-hearted scenes.

Padmé my beloved. She really closed her eyes to all the red flags 

I've loved Padmé since I was a child. I'm so thankful to get more of her story
