I loved the concept of this story and while it started off strong, I felt that it dragged towards the end.

Dash finds a journal in a bookstore that has a list of dares in it. Once he completes the dares he then leaves the journal for whoever left it for him with their own dares. I loved the dares and seeing what Dash and Lily would come up with next. Once they finally met though, I just wanted the story to end, but it didn’t which caused this book to be a little longer than it needed to be.

I was glad this was told in alternating chapters between Dash and Lily’s perspectives. However, I listened to the audiobook, and wish I hadn’t. Tara Sands, who narrates Lily’s character, got on my nerves. I could not handle her voice. I get that she was reading the part of an angsty teenager, but she made her seem shrill and whiny. It made it hard to actually like her character.

Overall, this was a cute holiday YA story. I’m not sure that I’ll continue the series, but if I do I will read the actual book instead of listening to it on audio.

Happy Publication Day!

I really enjoyed this romcom novella about two best friends, Robyn and Cat, who had to move back to their small hometown and start over after they both unfairly lost their jobs in Boston. It was fun following them on the journey with their new careers and to finding love.

There was a chapter on the train in the beginning that had me cracking up. I was immediately hooked and invested in Cat and Robyn’s stories. I loved the small town of Mystic Oak and how everyone was connected somehow. There were some great secondary characters in this short story. In particular, Jacques, the chef at Robyn’s bakery, and her dog Darcy. I also loved Cat’s Nonna and her brother, Tonio.

Even though this is a novella, the authors did a nice job of developing the main characters. I loved their strong relationship and how they had each other’s backs throughout the book. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of them in the future. This was a cute debut, and I look forward to reading more from Natalie and Nina in the future!

Thank you to the authors for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Let It Snow is a book of three young adult holiday romances written by three different authors. All of the stories are set around a snowstorm on Christmas Eve. Although they aren’t all focused on the same characters, the stories are intertwined which I loved!

The Jubilee Express by Maureen Johnson was my favorite of the three stories. I loved Jubilee as a character and thought the story was heartfelt and well written. 4/5

A Cheertastic Christmas by John Green was a funny story with some romance at the end. Sadly I didn’t connect with the characters as much so this was my least favorite. I really am beginning to think John Green just isn’t the author for me. 3/5

The Patron Saint of Pigs by Lauren Myracle wrapped up all of the stories nicely with characters from each story included. Addie was a bit too self-involved for me, but I did enjoy this story overall.

If you’d looking for a quick holiday romance and enjoy young adult then this might be the book for you!

When I started this book I was really confused. I had no clue what was going on because there were a lot of different points of view and the timeline was all over the place. Also, was a cat really telling part of the story?

I did find myself confused throughout until one of the big twists was revealed which helped to explain a lot. I can’t say much more about the story without giving anything away so you’ll have to read it to find out more!

Although this wasn’t my favorite, I did think it was a unique story that I hadn’t read before. There were some great twists, and the author did a great job at making me want to know what was going on.

I listened to the audiobook, and I was really impressed that one narrator covered all of the different perspectives. Christopher Ragland did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced listeners copy and Macmillan-Tor/Forge for an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

After catching her boyfriend cheat on her, Taylor turns to her bestie Weston for comfort. Weston decides it’s time to let her know his feelings by making Taylor go on the the twelve “holidates” she had planned for her ex.

This was a cute Christmas novella about two best friends that don’t realize they’re in love with each other. I’m always a big fan of the friends to lovers trope so was excited to read this one. It’s the perfect feel good read for this time of year with some humor thrown in thanks to the dates not going as planned and Weston’s cantankerous grandma.

Although a bit predictable at times, I did really enjoy this story. I thought the holidates were cute and a fun take on a holiday romance. If you’re looking for some holiday cheer then this is the book for you.

I thought this was a really cute YA Christmas story. It does lean more towards the young than adult in YA, but I still enjoyed it. I loved that the chapters were named after Christmas songs and how the main characters were named after characters in Christmas movies.

If you enjoy YA and Christmas romance this one's for you!
