Cecilia Fitzpatrick finds a mysterious letter from her husband that says not to be read until after his death. He acts strangely when she mentions it and makes her swear not to read it. Curiosity gets the better of her, but what she finds in this letter makes her wish she would have never read it. The Husband’s Secret tells the story of three women – Cecilia, Tess, and Rachel – and how their lives become intertwined because of the secret Cecilia uncovers in her husband’s letter.

I enjoyed this story and liked how these ladies’ lives all intersected throughout the book. I listened to the audio book, and I found the narrator a bit irritating. I’m not sure if I read the actual book if my rating would have been higher or not.

This was a cute romance story. I liked how the two main characters met and seeing how their relationship progressed. It was a bit predictable at times, and I felt there were a few more sex scenes than necessary, but overall I really enjoyed it.

This was a cute little story. It was predictable, but I kind of expect that from a Christmas romance.

To be honest, I really did not want to read this book, but I'm so glad I did! This is definitely not my genre, but I ended up loving this book. I listened to the audio version, and the narrator did a fantastic job. I loved this book so much that I already downloaded the second book in the series to start listening to later today. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Edward is 12 years old and the only survivor of a plane crash with 191 people on board including his parents and brother. He goes to live with his aunt and uncle and this story is about how he copes with the loss of his family while dealing with the fame of being the sole survivor of this flight. The book is told from two time periods - after the crash and during the flight.

I can’t imagine losing my entire family especially at such a young age. What Edward went through was tragic. I liked how the book wasn’t just told from what happened after the crash, but how it told us what happened during the plane ride and the other passengers stories. I did think it was slow in the beginning, but picked up at the end once Edward finds the garage (I won’t say more so I don’t spoil anything).

I need time to process this one before rating and reviewing!

This wasn't my favorite romance I've read recently probably because I didn't think it was totally original, but it was still enjoyable. Nothing too crazy, but there is some sex in it if that isn't your thing. I enjoyed The Wedding Date and will continue the series at a later date.

Laura, Mia, and Janie are all connected by an advertising agency, Morris & Wood. Laura has just returned after 6 months maternity leave. Mia, the temp who covered for her, is now working there full-time and seems after Laura’s job. Janie’s husband, Harry, owns the company. When a fire that is considered arson burns the ad agency to the ground, secrets that all three ladies have been hiding will eventually come out.

This book had such a great premise that I was really excited to read it. I struggled getting into it though. The book alternates through the three ladies perspectives as well as police interviews after the fire. I did like the alternating points of view because you got to see how the three ladies perceived each other. All three ladies are unreliable narrators which makes sense with the title.

I started this book in August and then put it on hold for a bit because I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted to love it, but it just moved so slowly. Once I picked it back up determined to finish it, I still felt the pace was so slow. I kept wondering if it would ever end. With that said, I was still intrigued to see how it would all play out.

Mia was my favorite of the three liars. I found her story the most interesting and kept reading to see what really brought her to Morris & Wood. Laura got on my nerves a lot. Too much of the book focused on her jealousy and obsession with Mia. Janie was just kind of there until the party scene where we start to get a better understanding of her. All three of these ladies had a reason to start the fire so the author did a good job of keeping her readers guessing.

There is a bit of a twist at the end which I didn’t see coming. The problem is that it didn’t really wow me. I like my jaw to drop at a surprise ending, but I was just like “oh, ok”.

Although this book wasn’t really for me, I have read other reviews of people who loved it so please take that to heart when deciding to read this.

Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
