DNF 26% - my brain space is not capable of keeping these alternating times, characters, and families straight right now. It’s just not working for me. 

This isn’t what I was expecting/isn’t holding my attention 

Couldn’t get invested in the characters or concept

Too repetitive, so much focus on AA/sobriety, so much focus on the MC being white. It just isn’t working for me. 

The topic is so relevant and important, but the writing didn’t grab me and make me want to keep going. 

There was nothing particularly interesting about this book, and the main character seems like an insufferable b****. Coupled with transcription recordings that were annoying to read, and this just isn’t the book for me. 

The characters are all horrible. Jess is the main focus, and she just seems like a pain in the… the secondary characters are completely flat and honestly don’t seem to have any personality differences. Overall I wasn’t interested enough to continue.
