I hated Sadie, and was bored out of my mind. The author tries so hard to create “atmosphere” or something that every page could probably be cut by at least 50 if not 75 percent and be more interesting.
A completely unlikeable cast of characters, no plot, and impossible to keep straight.
This felt more YA than I was really into, and the language patterns were off putting for me. It wasn’t grabbing me so I put it down.
Too much time hopping, characters are annoying, slow pace
I just couldn't get into this - I didn't finish it, I gave up when it started seeming exactly like the first book...

I absolutely could not get into this book, despite numerous recommendations. I attribute this more to my non-love of short stories more than it being a bad book, it just wasn't for me.
The plot seemed so disjointed, and I got tired of reading about "Ruby says..."
Made it 121 pages and gave up. Not for me.

There was so much "telling rather than alluding" and stilted dialogue that I just couldn't do it. 25% through.
