The writing of the book is really good. You can feel the frustration of Morgan. She’s falsely accused of uncontrolled magic, and it makes her so frustrated and sad, you automatically feel the same emotions.
The story of this book is a little different from the previous, mainly because of the focus on newer characters. I like Morgan and Hunter so much, even when one of them is acting stupid. But I really don’t like Alisa. She interferes in things she doesn’t know anything about.
Therefore I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

It’s so refreshing to read in Hunter’s perspective. I like that very much.
In this book we learn the story of an ancestor of Morgan, the first person who created a black wave.
It was kind of interesting to know, but I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did with the others.

This book is written in Alisa’s POV.
In the previous books I didn’t like her at all. But in this book we learn more of how she feels and what she thinks and what’s going on in her life. It makes her more likeable.

Before reading this book I read some reviews, and a lot of them are “bad”.
I think this kind of book is just not for everyone. I also read the previous books in the Robert Langdon-series, and it’s true: it’s all in the same format. Professor Langdon has to solve some kind of mystery that has to do with some ancient order and it’s a race against the clock.
But I LOVE this format. I really can’t get enough of it. I’m so intrigued and fascinated by all the mysteries and all the symbolism. I actually learn a lot from these books, because I look up so many things.
This book focuses on the free-masons and noetic science (which I never heard of). I really liked the story, the way they interpret/explain all kinds of things: paintings, artwork, the Bible and other religious symbols/books/...
I loved it.
