“[…]I can’t give up until he specifically tells me to leave him alone. You know, like how vampires have to be invited in? I have to be invited out.”
A good friend sent me a screenshot from this book, and I pretty much immediately knew I was going to read it. This book was utterly charming from start to finish, and probably my favorite christmas-y read this year. Bubble might be one of the most endearing and adorable MCs I’ve ever read, honestly. He is aptly named for his personality *and* his butt. Bubbly all around.
He scratches his head, which causes his pecks to flex, killing my two remaining brain cells.
The tropes alone makes it nearly an automatic read, to be fair. The young male cheerleading coach pursues the much older football coach by giving him cute gifts and baking him more yummy treats than anyone could ever eat. Older coach has a mini-freakout because he’s suddenly attracted to a tiny, baking, dick-having menace for the first time in his life. Funny and very hot stuff happens when they’re snowed in together in a tiny cabin. I have to agree with my friend. I didn’t want this book to end, because it was just that sweet and entertaining. Exactly what it says it is, and exactly what I wanted and needed to read at the time.
“I decided we should make out,” I say.
“Oh really?”
“Yes, really.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because we just had a fight, so now we have to make out. It’s the rules.”
There was a couple of things mentioned throughout that I wish were expanded on, but it honestly didn’t affect my enjoyment much. Very highly recommend!

Does everybody feel like this? Is this how people know they found their one? All the tingles from the tips of your toes to the ends of your hair. Your heartbeat going crazy. And you just want to get close to them. And what happens when you find your one and they don’t find you back? Do you just hurt forever? That…that would be so sad.
When the man of your absolute dreams slams their mouth into yours, there is only one course of action. Yours truly has broken it down into four easy steps for your convenience. You’re welcome.
Step one: make sure he really is attached to you. Lips to lips. You’re a clam. Do not let go.
Step two: climb him like a tree.
Step three: thank your past self for all the squats that gave you those thunder thighs.
Step four: enjoy every second of that kiss before said man realizes what he’s doing and has a freakout.

Because he truly is ridiculous, and his eyes are wet and I am all mushy and emotional, and I think I will one day love him so much that my heart will explode.
This was a delightful quick listen. Just a proper feel good story. I really do love Sophia Soames’s writing, as there’s something really original about it. The dialogue just flows so damn well, and it feels real in a way that other writers sometimes can’t quite figure out. This is also another one of her books where there isn’t a whole lot going on plot wise, but it doesn’t need it. The characters really stand on their own. It was also surprisingly hot when these guys got down and dirty. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a shorter read with some feels, some funny banter and hilarious situations, and some smutty smut.
I listened to the audiobook, and thought the narrator did a good job. It’s delightful to listen to a british narrator. A rare treat. I will say, he speaks incredibly fast, lol. I’m all for it, as I usually listen to audiobooks between 1.4 and 1.7x speed.

Olan Stone is a complete dork. A dashing dork. I’m doomed.
I read book 2 in this series first and I absolutely loved that one. Full five stars and stuff. Unfortunately I don’t feel the same way about this one. I like this author’s writing a lot and there’s tons of funny, sweet and hot moments. Sadly, this was a case of me not really loving the main characters together. The book didn’t really feel like a romance book for a long time, more like it was just Marvin’s story and the love story was a side plot. When the romance really kicked in, I felt like their respective issues made them incompatible, and once I saw that I struggled with envisioning their HEA.
I get annoyed with characters very easily and struggle with letting that go, so might very well be a me-issue only. Just one of those where it didn’t do much for me, I’m afraid. I hate to say it but it was boring.

“When I grow up, I want to marry a taco.” For the record, me too, kid, me too.
A whole night’s sleep? Why rest when my mind can ping-pong about multiple topics and increase my bubbling anxiety simultaneously?
I have this problem where I vacillate between wanting a healthy, loving relationship and wanting to become a professional hermit.

“I think we’re both due a breakdown or two. Or three or four.”
Considering I never shut up about not enjoying any series with the same MCs in all books, you’d think I was an idiot for starting this one. HOWever, my friends sent me so many amazing quotes and told me all about how freaking epic this trilogy is, and being the sl*t for action and suspense that I am, I couldn’t resist it. I finished listening to the first book really fast, and the only reason I’m not already halfway through the third book is because I have exams and I’m trying to be good. It’s not working.
“Most creatures can’t survive decapitation.” “Right. So swords would be good. Where do swords come from? Like, who sells swords in the twenty-first century? It’s probably all online. Does Amazon Prime still deliver in the apocalypse? […]”
I will preface this next thing by saying that books with a lot of spice is sometimes not the best for me when it comes to audiobooks, so it felt like a bit much sometimes. The spice is fabulous, and there’s no doubt that Keira Andrews can write top notch sex. I just kinda wish I was reading the ebook instead for this one. The action was amazing, and it legitimately feels like the end of the world. I mean, it’s a zombie apocalypse, so *duh*, but I could really feel the desperation and desolation in every page. Brilliant. Highly recommend!

The bite will tie us together in ways siblings should never be tied together. He won’t just be my brother anymore. He’ll be my mate too. That bond is sacred. But so is the one between brothers. I’ll do anything to protect it. Even twist and taint it beyond all recognition.
My first official incest book! This one is between brothers. I had a ton of fun reading this book, and enjoyed the writing and story a whole lot. There is of course a lot of focus on the spice and taboo aspect, but I thought it was a very well done story in general. The entire premise sounded so interesting, and I literally ran to Smashwords to buy it as soon as my friend told me about it.
People look at him and hesitate to fuck around because they aren’t sure they want to find out.
I especially liked how, even though it *is* taboo, the shifter/pack life and history made it so it wasn’t too ‘bad’, for lack of a better word. Both MCs were sweet and likable, and distinct. I gotta say, the forbidden and taboo does really add a whole new flavor to the spice, lol. It was great.
“Love you. But I’ll choke you later like I don’t,” I whisper just for him.
My favorite thing with the book was the wolf shifter aspect. They actually spent a fair bit of time shifted, and interacted as wolves, and sometimes interactions between wolf/human. Scenting each other, cuddling, playing, pinning to the forest floor… you know, good stuff. I would love to read more books with this much time ‘shifted’.
I’m sweating like a sinner in church.

Not loving this book is kinda sad. Riley Nash can write like few others can, so this was very disappointing. The trans representation is fantastic, and I can only imagine the bravery needed to put so much of yourself in a character and share it with the world like this. Dallas is amazing. However, it felt like everything around Dallas was a bit of a mess. There were some worrying inconsistencies in the characters, which resulted in me not having a good grasp on Beck as character, even after finishing the book. The Beck-being-in-a-gang subplot was simultaneously all over the place as well as going nowhere. It felt unfinished and not fleshed out like it needed. The final quarter of the book springs a massive change in plot related to something that I had no idea was even on either of the MCs minds, and it didn’t work for me at all.
The most ‘upsetting’ thing (for lack of a better word), is that I don’t really buy into Dallas and Beck as a couple. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them in Bad Dogs, and I unfortunately didn’t feel much of it in this either. I think they are the most adorable friends, and whenever they were cuddling I smiled and swooned. The change from tactile friends to suddenly sexing each other up and being boyfriends felt unnatural though, as neither MC hinted at being interested in more prior to the moment it happened. At one point I started shipping Dallas with someone else entirely, and I was more invested in the stories of two newly introduced side characters.
I adored seeing Scout, Roman and Tubbs again. Roman is still adorable as ever, and I want to hug him whenever he’s in a scene.
Oh well. This one didn’t work for me, and that’s okay.

I want him to know my truth–that I’m built of stories and scars, not chromosomes.
“I just don’t understand why some people are born with the soul of one person and the body of another, and then get punished for it their whole lives.”
I’ve quickly learned that ‘baby’ and ‘bitch’ are this man’s love language. If he speaks to you like a normal person, it means he doesn’t give a shit about you.
“Everyone is dirt, Beck,” he mumbles, mostly asleep. I smooth a hand over his hair, stroking it back, and kiss his forehead. “Not you, pretty boy. You’re space dust. All the colors in the universe.”
“Roman?” Scout hollers at the top of his lungs. “I have a present for you.” After a long pause, clunking footsteps give way to a sleepy-looking Rome, who must have just crawled out of a nap in his hoodie and boxers. As soon as his golden eyes land on the table, he gasps, “Oh shit.” “Do you know how to take care of…” I quit mid-sentence, because the man isn’t listening to me. He shoves past Scout, scoops up the kitten with no hesitation, and cradles it to his chest with a series of gentle crooning noises. Scout raises his eyebrows at me, like see? “What’s his name?” Roman asks, as if he thinks I adopted it from the local shelter. When I don’t answer, he glances up and finally notices my injuries. Instead of asking if I’m alright, he looks down at the kitten with solemn awe. “You got him good, didn’t you? You’re a fighter.”

It was him. It was Holden. It was this man who I wasn’t supposed to be with, and who I suddenly couldn’t see myself being without.
Listening to this book was a bit of an impulsive decision, as it was included with my Storytel subscription. I’m very glad I listened though, because it was a very lovely story, and felt like a pretty realistic representation of what a story like this might be like in real life. It’s about Holden who lost his marriage because of being absent a lot, and who sort of lost the relationship with his three youngest children.
Dealing with the guilt from his fuckups, rebuilding trust and relationships, *and* falling for the georgeous live-in nanny your ex wife hired? Can’t be easy. The kids are a big part of the story, and from the (very limited) knowledge I have about kids, it seemed like they actually acted their age. None of that ‘5 going on 50’ stuff a lot of kids in books have going on.
Both MCs were very likable, and I thought they were sweet together. The well-being of the kids was very much the top priority for both of them throughout (which I appreciated), but they didn’t really seem positive about a relationship or the future together, which resulted in me being negative about it too for a while. Thankfully, the epilogue was lovely and showed how they managed to prioritize each other as well eventually.
Also, I don't want to be hateful, but I do so wish the author would put more effort (or money) into the book covers. They in no way represent the quality of the writing and stories. I imagine a lot of people overlook these books because of the covers. Or maybe that’s just me projecting. Also, if you read Daddy/boy or age play books like I do, you might get why I initially thought it looked like an age play story, lol.

A part of him was painfully aware of the abuse being done to his body, but he was able, from years of practice, to push it aside, pretend it wasn't happening. He hid away in the dark shadows of his mind, where it was safe.
This book was exactly what the blurb promised, yet nothing like I expected at all. I absolutely loved it. I must admit I was a bit worried in the beginning because of the power imbalance between the MCs. One of the MCs is *incredibly* vulnerable, and I was wondering how the hell the author was going to pull it off without giving me the ick along the way.
“Bad Man never lets me wear clothes,” Colby murmured, his awed tone making Vic want to hug the boy and punch someone in equal measure.
I ended up being very very impressed by how they managed to pull off the romance in this. It’s not I-need-you-now and tearing-off-clothes lust and chemistry, but deep affection, a sense of safety, friendship and love. It’s obviously (and thankfully) a slow burn and low heat, but it fit the story and the characters perfectly.
Being able to watch his sweet boy experience the beauty of nature for the first time in his life was both so utterly lovely and such a devastating reminder of just how much Colby had been denied.
Vic doesn’t want to be attracted to Colby, both because of his own past trauma, and because he’s afraid of preying on Colby. I thought Vic’s trauma really balanced out the story as well. He might be 31 years old, but in many ways he’s stuck as a scared and guilt-ridden 16 year old boy. He’s such a sweet and caring man.
The book is also set in a fantasy world with paranormal aspects, and it added a very different but intriguing vibe to the book, but without it feeling overwhelming.
Colby giggled—actually giggled—and Vic felt another piece of his shattered world settle back into place.
Definitely check the trigger warnings. Although there’s no gratuitous violence or graphic details on page, it doesn’t shy away from explaining what’s happened/happening either, and the warnings are most definitely warranted. Also, heads up about a lot of use of the words ‘kiddo’ and ‘champ’ from one MC to the other. I know that can peeve people.

“It's alright, champ–” Another nurse went by, and Colby let out a whimper, darting over to Vic and scrambling up his body until he had his legs wrapped around Vic's ribs and his head tucked against Vic's shoulder, his little arms wrapped around Vic's neck and his hands covering his own head. Vic put one arm around Colby's back to steady him. “Hey, kiddo. Easy. It's alright. They won't hurt you.”
You might be just what he needs. And he might be just what you need. Someday, as he trusts you more, this might be something really beautiful.
Colby's lower lip trembled. “Does that mean I can stay?” he whispered. “Of course, sweetheart. For as long as you want.” Colby glanced away for a moment, then looked up at Vic from under his eyelashes. “Forever?”

My husband, my lover, my best friend, my Daddy. One man held so many titles and each one of them was special, each one unique.
I don’t tend to read standalones with an established couple, but a good friend recommended this one. It’s a really sweet novella with husbands discovering and exploring a new kink together, and it really was delightful. One MC comes home to see his husband sleeping with a pacifier, and it’s the catalyst for them exploring age play.
I enjoyed how, even though they were new to the lifestyle *officially*, when the daddy MC looks back, he can see how this whole thing didn’t actually come out of nowhere. I don’t think it would’ve worked as well as it did if it felt like it came out of the blue for both guys.
I was in the mood for a low angst novella, and this one really hit the spot. Definitely recommend if you want to read something short and well written. Oh, and if you like age play. I would say it’s pretty ‘mild’. No ABDL.

We’d worked so hard to make it to the Super Bowl, and now that it was time to get our head into that game, our record-holding wide receiver was in little space and had been for the last four hours.
I watched as he pushed the pacifier into his mouth, then chuckled as my six-foot-two-inch, NFL star husband nearly skipped out of my office.

In the length of his entire life, he could point to one unwavering truth: he loved Ethan to the depths of his soul. And Ethan loved him in return. And if that was the worth of his life, if that was what all he had, well— He was the wealthiest man who had ever lived.
You ever finish a book and go ‘what the fuck just happened?’ Well I have (and just did), and the answer is: EVERYTHING happened. There’s not a single thing that *didn’t* happen in this book. Maybe I should wait longer and let everything sink in before I write the review, but where’s the fun in that? There’s not a lot of coherent thought going on at the moment.
I can’t even imagine writing a book with this many characters, locations, languages, cultures, POVs, etc. I listened to the audiobooks so it was a struggle to keep track sometimes. These definitely aren’t books you put on as background noise. All of these storylines and timelines finally matching up, figuring out who the mole is, being just as unsure about who you can trust as the characters are, edge-of-your-seat action and suspense, and legit wondering if any of the characters were going to survive the day (lol), there was shit going down from the very first to the very last page. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Ethan and Jack finally got their (seriously hard fought) HEA. Sasha and Sergey broke my heart and my tear ducts, and Adam and Faisal obliterated what was left of my limping heart, lol. Three pairings and three equally emotional stories. And that’s just the romantic relationships. Again, Tal writes fucking fantastic action and suspense. The thriller elements were top notch in this, and Tal’s ability to write graphic violence that makes me go ‘eww’ and ‘rad’ at the same time is just one of the many reasons why I love this author so damn much.
I probably wouldn’t recommend this series unless you enjoy suspense and politics, because there’s a lot of it, but there’s three beautiful love stories in the mix as well. Honestly I want everyone to read the books.
