I couldn’t be bothered to take notes while reading this, so no detailed content warnings. However, if you read the main series it should be fine. No new tragedies. There’s mostly just drinking alcohol and sex and references to murder and past trauma. No breakups, no OM drama.

Absolutely loved all these extra stories. Especially all the interactions (lol) between Zane and Felix. Those two are the best.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes down below.

Houston’s dark eyes ran down Kenneth’s body, slowly, then returned to his flushed face. He grinned, but it wasn’t reassuring. It was… predatory. And arousing. Dear god was it arousing. Kenneth had never wanted to be prey more in his life.

Something I really enjoy about this series is that even though the relationships happen and progress quickly, and there’s possessiveness and a motorcycle club, it all feels surprisingly healthy. There’s good communication, focus on consent and safety, and the MC club is inclusive and kind.

I really liked Kenneth. I love stories with lonely characters and this one tugged on my heartstrings a couple times. It was a cute story and I really liked the shibari scenes.

Ever so softly, Kenneth let his eyes fall shut and pressed his lips to Houston’s in the gentlest kiss he’d ever experienced. And it still somehow rocked his whole damn world.

Unfortunately it doesn’t score super high for me because it skipped some scenes that I thought would’ve been really important, for example Kenneth meeting the club for the first time as Houston’s boyfriend, and the first time he meets Houston’s mom and extended family. It can be really frustrating when those important moments are skipped and only briefly summarized after the fact.

His life was good, and he needed to remember that instead of feeling sorry for himself because he didn’t have a bunch of friends or someone to kiss him after a hard shift and make him feel better. He had nothing to complain about, and being jealous of others gave him nothing but heartache.

“You’re going to be more of a handful than I thought, sweet boy,” Houston murmured, and Kenneth worried that was a bad thing. Had he pushed too hard? As if reading his mind, a wicked grin appeared on Houston’s tempting mouth. “Don’t worry. My hands are big enough for the job.”

“All I know is… I want to be important. To be someone’s priority.” He blinked back his tears, feeling overwhelmed at just saying the words.

3.5⭐️

A well-written, exciting, angsty and interesting story. The characters, Liam especially, were lovely (sometimes) and complicated, and also sometimes infuriating. I really enjoyed the concept of the entire story, but I must admit I didn’t necessarily understand why the MCs were together beyond sex. I didn’t really see why they would want to be a couple, things they had in common beyond work, etc. The focus of the story is on Liam’s internalized homophobia and shame, so understandably there’s not much in terms of dates and relationship ‘stuff’, but it would’ve been nice to see some glimpses of that at the end. Thankfully, we did get some relationship development eventually where we could actually see the emotional connection between the MCs, not just the sexual one, but it wasn’t all that strong.

The kink makes sense in theory and for the plot, showing Liam’s shame, but it felt a little out of place, like that was the only reason for the kinky dynamic, just to drive that part of the plot, as it fell away eventually. I couldn’t quite get a grip on who Cody was supposed to be. He goes from never showing any signs of domination to being a dom in the bedroom, and he’s 20 but acts older than 34 year old Liam. I liked his character, but some parts didn’t feel like him.

Keira writes so well and I enjoyed all the rescue scenes and interactions with the rest of the lifeguard team a lot. I also might have kicked me feet a little with joy because of the cameo with Ethan and Clay.

‼️ Spoiler warning for this next bit ‼️

I really felt like, if Liam hadn’t been accidentally outed, he would have never come out and their relationship would’ve ended.

Six would do damn near anything if Ollie looked at him like that when he begged for something. He was in deep shit if Ollie figured that out.

4.5⭐️

I’m really glad I gave this book a chance. Originally I wasn’t going to for reasons, but what I worried about turned out to be a complete non-issue. I really loved both MCs. Ollie is femme, bratty and mouthy, but also wants to submit to and serve his Daddy. Honestly a perfect mix. Six was a more complete and sweet character than I was expecting. He’s very protective of his mom (and everyone else, really), but also just really kind. He’s strict, but never cruel.

“Six isn’t the boss of me.”
“Wanna bet?” Six growled from the doorway behind him.

I really liked seeing CJ from the first book, Reckless, and Ollie become good friends. Those two together were adorable chaos. The exhibitionism and voyeurism weren’t a huge part of the story, but what was there was hot and well done. I really liked that there was a lot of focus on safety and consent in every part of their relationship.

It wasn’t quite the full five stars, mostly because there were some scenes I wanted to see on page and fully expected to see, but that ended up being skipped and not mentioned much at all.

He was twenty-five, cute, and good at sucking dick—what more could a man want?

He wanted a sweet little sub who let him control everything—with cock cages and plugs and rules. Who smiled up at him with total fucking adoration and thanked him after he spanked their ass until it was bright red and then painted it with his come.

When Ollie gave a short nod and dipped his head down, Six grunted. This submission wasn’t from a need to obey; it was defeat. And that wasn’t okay. He nudged his chin back up with the side of his knuckle.

The skirt combined with the shirt got a few winks and chuckles—and a couple of guys high-fived Six, which was… annoying for some reason—but no one really gave Ollie a second glance. Which he was glad no one was giving him shit, but couldn’t they see how gorgeous he was?

“I don’t know how to not be afraid,” Isak whispered into the dark.

I think I might be in love with Marina Vivancos’ writing. It’s beautiful, simple, original and the pages just fly by when reading her books. I finished Honeythorn in record time and I just had to read Cherryvine as well. They are quite similar in some ways as they deal with past abuse and arranged marriages, but the characters felt new and I could never mistake any of the MCs in Honeythorn for those in Cherryvine. Gosh I love this little world. The descriptions are so vivid. I couldn’t stop imagining a place that looks like a mix of Santorini and King’s Landing from GoT. I want to go there, lol. Omegaverse meets regency meets steampunk? Yup, it works.

Isak snorted, giving him that half-disbelieving, half-amused look he always had when Emil was especially effusive. “You cannot possibly tell me I am funny.” “You make me smile.” “That’s not the criteria for being funny.” “Hm. Well. I shall call the comedy committee and make a formal complaint.”

It’s a short book and nothing truly bad actually happens, but my god the angst was effective. I was so on edge throughout, exactly like poor Isak was. That distrust of everything and everyone after prolonged domestic abuse was really powerful, in many ways.

Emil was a delightful character. He’s cheeky, a himbo alpha, pure sunshine and also the sappiest of devoted husbands. Great freaking combo.

“No ifs, darling. Do them the justice of allowing them to speak for themselves, and don’t insult their character by speculating on things that only exist in your fears.”

Highly recommend.

In all truthfulness, the day of Isak’s second wedding dawned like any other. The sense of foreboding that filled him was old and familiar—he couldn’t remember a day when he hadn’t awoken with it deep in his gut.

It turned out that the swim clothes covered his torso, but only went down to mid-thigh. Mid-thigh. People were going to see his knees.

“It’s all lovely. I was especially taken by the glasswork. Truly, I have never seen anything more beautiful.” “Have you not looked in the mirror?” Isak blushed, scoffing. “Alpha.” “Sorry, sorry. I’ll stop being such a sap if I must.”

What do you even say about a book with the tagline ’They’re Here… For Dick!’, lol. It sure was… something. I enjoyed it? I think. I mean, it heavily lacked relationship development and most other things, but it was exactly what it said it would be. Humans boning aliens to help them repopulate. Breeding happened, mission success, lol. Having a self-cleaning and self-lubing alien is hella convenient tho, especially for the word count.

“Will it fit?” he asked, eyes wide with worry. I leaned in and kissed him. “It’ll fit, I promise. And it’ll feel so good.”

“It’s all right. It’s in the past.” Milan shook his head against Raphael’s chest. “The past can still hurt. It’s all right to still hurt,” Milan whispered.

I adored this book and the world the author created. It felt totally different to anything else I’ve read. It’s an omegaverse story but not tons of focus on the alpha/omega designations. We got steampunk, lords and manors, horses, fancy balls with even fancier clothes, etc. It really felt like I was transported someplace else, and the alternate universe was built so well.

“Why are you doing this to me?” Milan whispered.

The romance story itself was very rough and mega sad in the beginning, and I genuinely loved it. It made me cry lots (yay). It heavily touches on themes of (unintentionally) hurting others when you’re hurting too, and the process of forgiveness and understanding. I thought it was super well done.

I finished it super quickly and enjoyed every single page. Highly recommend.

Even then he had known the horror of being diminished. Of being made to die from the inside out. There could be much more to dying than death.

All he knew was the cold ball of his body as he curled in on himself, shivering in the shadow that had been cast over his future.

“It has become quite clear to me that it is not love, or friendship, or even companionship that you sought in this marriage. I hope you can forgive me for hoping otherwise in the beginning. I assure you, I have been thoroughly disabused of those notions.”

It was an otherworldly horror, to see someone who was making him suffer so completely handle the bud of a plant with such care.

I’ve felt the earth move under my feet more than a few times. Felt the crump of buildings collapsing. Been shaken by shells that split soul from soul like earthquakes. Rowan’s song? It’s seismic.

I’m not quite sure how to rate and review this one. I enjoyed large parts of it and I thought the characters were sweet and interesting. The writing was certainly a bit different too, which I sometimes enjoyed and sometimes didn’t. The book did feel more like a story about Rowan’s life in general and his life as a teacher, and not at all a romance. The MCs are sleeping together through most of the book but they never actually talk about anything. So much of the focus is on processing trauma and helping the students with theirs. The book dragged a lot in those moments with long scenes talking with other teachers (SO many of them), as well as a lot of repeated internal dialogue.

As I mentioned, I did like both MCs, but there wasn’t actually a lot going on there except for sexual chemistry. It felt like they never had a proper conversation, not one that wasn’t vague at least. There’s only so much relationship development I can infer from stolen glances and almost smiles. They get their happy ending but I wasn’t awfully invested in seeing it.

It won’t be fully dark for hours yet, so I don’t know why there are so many stars in his eyes.

“You’ve been giving me nothing but shit for weeks,” I said, undressing methodically, but with haste. “So now you’re going to be a good boy and take what I give you.” “Fuck you,” he said, snarling as he started pushing his jeans and underwear down to his ankles, kicking them off.

Oh boy, I had a really good time reading this. Kelly Fox might be one of my favorites. She seems to always hit the sweet spot between genuinely funny, stupid hot, emotional and sweet. The spice was definitely spicin’ in this one *fans self*.

Woody is grumpy and prickly and would rather keep his walls up and everyone else out than be vulnerable, but deep down he’s a sensitive sweetheart and needs to be protected at all cost. If a character is *too* hostile and difficult, this kinda dynamic often doesn’t work for me as it just gets annoying, but I thought it was done really, really well. I wanted to give him a hug. Also, prickly punk rancher who loves to hear he’s a good boy and wants all the hugs and kisses? Sign me up, every time.

Emery was pretty awesome too. I didn’t understand his background as much and it wasn’t a big focus in the story, but he was a great character anyway. He’s also a really good dad, and I enjoyed all the scenes with his daughter, Stevie. Emery is dominant and possessive, but equally caring and kind. He’ll bone you through the mattress and then cuddle and feed you after. Pretty solid deal.

Absolutely recommend this one.

I wrapped my arms around him, keeping him upright as I kissed the top of his head and then his ears. I made a moany complaining noise, and he tilted his face up, accepting my kisses like maybe he needed them just as badly.

“Hey, what are you up to?” I asked as I took a seat beside him, placing the tray on the coffee table. Ollie immediately dropped the remote on the couch before turning to me and burying his face in the crook of my neck. He rubbed his stubbled cheek against my skin, marking me like he would’ve in his cat form, and a purr-like rumble came from his throat. I found it absolutely cute the way he acted like a cat at times.

This book had tons of cute shifter moments and shiftery manners and behavior, which I massively enjoyed. Cute premise. Unfortunately it kinda dragged in the second half because there was nothing more that could happen, kinda. They were together and happy, so a ‘what now?’ sort of situation. It is also supposedly book 1 in a series but felt book 10 in an interconnected series with all of the side characters and existing couples. Quite frustrating.

Oliver froze in my arms, and I pulled away, worried I’d pushed too much. He wasn’t looking at me, though. He was staring at the rather large bulge in his pants. As I watched, he hesitantly brought a hand close to his hard-on and…poked it. I bit my lip to stop the laugh that wanted to burst out. I knew he was self-conscious about not knowing how to be human, and the last thing I wanted to do was make him think I was mocking him for it. He looked up at me with wide eyes. “Why is it…doing that?”

He lay down beside me immediately, his nose touching mine again. He pulled my head closer with his front paws and proceeded to chew on my ear, making me huff. When my ear was acceptably chewed out, he started grooming me, and I settled in for the night, a purr starting to build in my chest as I cuddled with him.

“What… Ollie! What are you doing?” I didn’t want to let go of his hair because I knew the moment I did, he’d leave. So I hung on as he turned around to face me, balancing on my hind legs as I rested my front paws on his leg again. “Oh, sweetheart, you don’t want me to go?” I growled in agreement, and Devon leaned over and hauled me up into his arms. I immediately tucked my face into the crook of his neck and started purring.
