I REALLLLYYYYY wanted to like this book but it was painful for me to finish it. I hate saying this about books because I know how much blood sweat and tears go in writing books. However, this just didn’t engage me at any point in the book.
As with all Paula Hawkins characters, I couldn’t wait to be away from them and never look back. They are the people in subways who you don’t want to make eye contact with because they may get violent. Also, I am sort of tired of alcoholism being the vice trope in her books.

ANYTHING Freida writes I will read! So so sooooo much fun and unexpected.

A man moves his family to a small island following the suicide of his sister to take care of his niece and the house she left for him. The wife is a Dr. Who is struggling with the move. The niece is an angry teenager who is struggling with grief and coming to terms with the invasion of this new family.
The family has moved here with quite a few skeletons in their closet as well which have the wife, Dr.Sadie in a spin.
The book is written through multiple perspectives that change in each chapter. The book starts off really strong but then I felt the writer didn’t know how to handle the million plot points that she had laid out and it got a bit sloppy.
One twist that is actually crucial to the story was revealed wayyyy too early so by the time the actual climax hit where it should’ve ideally been revealed, I was not at all surprised.
Also, there wasn’t a single likable character in the book. Not even in a ‘what a cool villain’ sorta way.
I still won’t say to skip it. It does keep you guessing and wanting to turn the page.

Thank you NetGalley for this Arc book! Omg what a ride this was! I literally inhaled this book in one sitting!
It was so confusing in the best way! I had guessed the ending but it was still such an amazing ride to take with the protagonist Denise that I didn’t even mind.
The premise of the book is that Laura and Denise are sisters and best friends. Laura is married to Conner and they are expecting their first child together. One fateful day after an ob-gyn appointment where Denise is driving Laura back home, the breaks of the car fail and they get into a catastrophic accident. Laura dies and Denise ends up in a coma for about a month.
When she finally wakes up she finds Conner and because of their shared grief they become close and eventually (a bit too soon in my opinion) get married.
Now strange things starts happening to Denise. Things keep changing around her, her version of events don’t seem to align with anyone else’s etc. the question is, is she losing my her mind or is Laura back to punish her.
This book is coming out in the 19th of March 2024! It should so be a bestseller and I can see this as a Netflix series as well!

My second Arc book! Thank you NetGalley for being so awesome!
This book is for anyone who was a fan of seeing behind the curtain of politics and just what lengths people can go to achieve what they want. Pretty much no one is who they seem to be in this book.
I really enjoyed how the story unfolded by going back and forth between the past and present. The pace was perfect and the story keeps you guessing till the last minute.
The ending was what truly sold the book to me as a solid four star read.

What an incredible book! Also one that is really difficult to review because everything can be a spoiler.
All I’m gonna say is just dive right in! It’s so so good!
