Thank you so much to the author for sending me a free eARC.

This was such a cute novella!

I’ve read 2 other books by Summer Dowell, and I have to say that this was my favorite so far.

It reminded me a lot of a Hallmark movie in the best of ways.

The chemistry between Elle and Oliver was top notch. Even though the story was short, I didn’t feel like their romance was rushed.

One other part of this story that I really enjoyed was the large family aspect. Elle’s twin brothers were hilarious, and I loved how fast news spread in her family.

The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that Elle felt the need to lie to her family. It made her seem immature for her age.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by this author.

Wasn’t in the mood for it anymore. I will probably try again at another time.

I was loving this book up until the scene half way through the book with Travis and Archer. I just couldn’t get past what was happening.

I really enjoyed the art style in this book. The colors were great, and I liked looking at the illustrations. The maps on the end pages were cool.

Deja and Josiah were decent main characters. I don’t get why Josiah liked some girl for years if he hadn’t ever talked to her. Deja was okay, but I thought she acted immature about the kid stealing her food.

I did think the ending was sweet. Overall, this was a cute book perfect for autumn.

RE-READ REVIEW

What it's about:
Liv is fired from her job after witnessing her boss harassing a co-worker. When Braden finds out, he decides he wants to help Liv expose her ex-boss for the scum that he is. Liv is determined to push Braden away, but she soon realizes that Braden is more than what she first thought him to be.

What I thought:
This was a re-read for me. I still enjoyed this story a lot, but I wish the focus had been a bit more on the romance instead of the plot about Liv's boss. The romance was also too much about lust rather than an emotional connection.

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: great narration but wish there had been a second narrator.

⚠️ sexual harassment & swearing

🌶️ several open door scenes
