I’ve read most of this author’s books, and I’ve enjoyed a lot of them. From the synopsis, it sounded like it would be a good book.

I feel like the synopsis hides what this book is really about in a way that’s unhelpful for potential readers. I would’ve never picked up this book had I known that it was a book primarily about kinky sex. Also, from the set up at the beginning, it sounded like the main relationship was going to happen while one of the characters was still with someone else, which I'm not a fan of. I think the right audience would like this book because Ali is a great writer. However, I was disappointed that the synopsis didn’t mention what this book was really about.

I had heard good things about this author, and I was able to get a copy at a library book sale last year.

I think this author’s writing style just isn’t for me. The dialogue kept pulling me out of the story because it didn’t feel realistic to me. It could be because there was slang and pop culture references that were from several years ago. There were also some news articles included, and they honestly sounded fake. I know a lot of people love this book though, so it might still be worth reading.

I got the FairyLoot edition with my subscription, and Red Tower sent me a physical ARC of it. It sounded like a book I would enjoy.

While the premise of this story was interesting, I had a few issues with the execution. The pacing was all over the place. Sometimes I didn’t want to put the book down, but then other times I was quite bored. I also didn’t like how the magic system worked or how conveniently things worked out for the main character. Also, the romance was too rushed for me.

I was asked to read and review this book, and from the synopsis I was given, it sounded like something I would enjoy.

This book was bleak the entire time I was reading it. The main character experienced one traumatic event after another, and the writing was so graphic at times. I just couldn't stomach the content of this book. If you like depressing stories with a LOT of triggering content, then I think you'll enjoy this book.

I previously read The Reunion by this author and enjoyed it. Also, this was an option for January's Simon & Schuster Audio influencer program.

I liked a lot of what I read, but I also think it won't be memorable for me. The relationship seemed like it developed too quickly, and the characters didn't seem to have very distinct personalities. Also, the main character's sister was the main reason that I gave up on this story. The narration was good though.

I read the Daughter of the Pirate King books by this author and really enjoyed them, so I thought I would like this book too.

I love this author's writing style because it's witty and makes me laugh out loud. This story just didn't keep my attention like her other books have. so I decided to stop reading it. I will however read more books by this author in the future because I really like her writing style.

I was so disgusted with Verity when she talked about her feelings and actions towards pregnancy.

I didn't enjoy how crude the characters were in this book, and it felt a bit insta-love to me.

It wasn’t keeping my attention. Also, one of the voices that the narrator did sounded like Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter, and I thought it a bit annoying.

I didn’t really care about the characters or plot.
