This book was WILD!

I knew going into this story that it was science fiction and had cool formatting, but I had no idea that I would be on edge for most of the book. The authors kept me guessing on who might die next, so everything was pretty much unexpected.

Some of the things that happened in this book were pretty horrifying, and a certain AI made me pretty mad throughout the story.

I loved how snarky both Kady and Ezra were in their interviews. They also had a lot of cute conversations between the two of them.

The formatting was one of the best parts of this book because it was just so unique. I loved how they pieced together different types of files in order to make up the story. I found the interviews at the beginning really funny.

Overall, I highly recommend this book!

After finishing Illuminae, I immediately wanted to read this book. I ended up enjoying it even more!

The new characters introduced in this book were great. I particularly enjoyed the banter between Hanna and Niklas. Also, Niklas' cousin Ella was a great addition to the story.

Once again, the formatting really added to this book. I thought Hanna's sketches were really cool, and I thought the one about her and Niklas was pretty funny.

Overall, this book was all over the place (in a good way). There was just so much action, and I never knew what to expect.

I enjoyed the friendship between Remi and Elijah. Although, they didn't seem like best friends considering how dishonest they were with each other.

Elijah was definitely my favorite character, but I couldn't stand most of the other characters. Jeremy and Savannah were both awful in their own ways.

Jeremy seemed so different at the first party compared to how he was when he did stuff with Remi.

Also, I just couldn't understand how Elijah could go out with Savannah. She was horrible to Remi, and she didn't even care about Elijah.

I also didn't like the view of marriage in this book. The author made it sound like you should just get a divorce when you get tired of a person. Considering that there is a lot more to marriage than just love, I thought that this view of marriage was pretty crappy.

Remi and Elijah's school was also stupid. I can't believe how the adults acted towards Remi at the end of the story. Also, I just couldn't understand how Remi could be failing art?!?!

The reason that I am giving this book 3.5 stars instead of less was because there were still things that I enjoyed. I found that there were a lot of funny parts, and I liked the aspect of art in the story.

While I didn't love this book, I am still excited to check out some of the other books by this author.

I enjoyed this book and the dual POVs.

I liked Annie better at the beginning of the book. She was unique, but as the story went on, she became too similar to everyone else.

At first, I wasn't a big fan of Clay because of how he treated people and his bad decisions. He did grow on me throughout the story though.

I did like that Annie and Clay seemed to help each other out. The personal songs were cute too.

I hated Laura and the fact that she was terrible for Clay. She didn't care about him at all, and what she did near the end of the story almost got him killed.

Annie's backstory was really sad considering the things that went on with her parents.

My biggest problem with this story was that there weren't really that many good moments between Annie and Clay. It felt like they spent more of the story on other things instead of the romance.

Wow, what an ending to a series.

I was so excited to see that Asha was still alive.

The BeiTech soldiers on Kerenza were nuts. I felt so bad for Rhys that he had to be one of the soldiers. I can't believe they shot at kids like it was nothing.

AIDAN was terrible once again, so I didn't understand why Kady was so attached to it.

There were so many times that I thought people died, and I was so upset. I really thought that Ezra and Niklas had died, but Nik and that parachute!!

The ending was really satisfying, and I loved how this book wrapped up the entire series.

The best part of this book was the fact that it was about gymnastics. I love watching Olympic gymnastics, so I felt that I could understand a big portion of the gymnastics vocabulary.

However, I was disappointed by the romance in this book. I was expecting a good romance, but the characters were so on again off again that it was just meh. It made me not care about the characters that much. The few moments Ryan and Avery had alone together were cute, but I wish there would've been more of them.

I did enjoy Hallie as a character because she was hardworking, and I enjoyed her conversations with Avery. None of the other characters stood out that much.

Avery's old coach was awful, and I couldn't understand how Jasmine could have married him.

This book did have a cute ending though. Overall, it was a decent book.

This book had been on my TBR for years. The premise didn't really interest me much, but I love a lot of Nicholas Sparks books. I finally decided to give this book a read, but I should have gotten rid of it a long time ago.

The characters were just okay, and I really hated Lexie. She acted so immature, and she made Jeremy do everything in the relationship.

The plot was okay, but the romance was weird and sudden. I didn't like the "insta-love" that Jeremy had towards Lexie.

I love the way Nicholas Sparks writes because of the way he describes things. Unfortunately, this book fell short.

The way that the POVs kept switching without warning was kind of jarring to the reading experience.

The side characters were mostly unlikable such as Jeremy's friends or Rodney.

What was up with that ending?!?

Honestly, this was the worst Nicholas Sparks book I've read so far. He has a lot of books that I love, but this was definitely not one of them.

This book was not what I expected it to be, but I still enjoyed it.

There were some characters that I really hated (Eleanor's mom and a lot of her co-workers). Raymond grew on me as he became better friends with Eleanor.

I really appreciated Eleanor's growth as a person throughout the novel. She started to understand herself better, and she started taking better care of herself.

The plot was good and unpredictable. I did think that the ending with her mom was a bit weird.

Before reading this book, I didn't know that it took place in the UK. All of the British slang and Eleanor's large vocabulary were unexpected, but I actually really enjoyed it (even though I didn't always understand everything she was saying lol).

I'm a big fan of short chapters, so that was a nice plus to this book.

I could see myself maybe re-reading this story in the future because it made me think a lot. There were a lot of difficult topics that this book dealt with, but I liked that it had a hopeful ending.

Overall, I would recommend this book.
