Disappointing.

This series started out so well with Steelheart, but, for me, has just not brought it home.

Lackluster conclusion, full of holes.

Bummer...

4.5 moving cities out of 10.

A fascinating and tragic piece of history.

10 burning piles of debris out of 10

The descriptions of early 1800s New York City alone are worth the price of admission.

A great slice of history.

9 fatal gun shot wounds out of 10

An exceptional book.

I don't use the phrase required reading often...but yeah, that.

10 revealing DNA tests out of 10.

An interesting account of the worst natural disaster in US history's.

I would give it 3.5 stars if Goodreads would wake up and give me access to half stars.

7 hurricane destroyed buildings out of 10

This was the first book I read by Joseph Ellis.

It is excellent.

I dragged it out to reread the parts about the Burr-Hamilton duel and the dinner meeting between Hamilton and Madison...then I found myself just rereading the entire book.

I really wanted to like this...but no...

They phoned this one in...luckily Witches makes up for it though...
