I think I just had higher expectations and hopes for this book that weren't fulfilled. It's not that it's a bad book, I just had a hard time getting into it and it holding my interest.

I loved how delicately Abby Jiminez touched on the issue of abusive relationships. I adored Alexis and Daniel and Bri and Hunter and everyone in Wakan. I loathed Alexis' parents and Neil so much I was shaking at points. But all in all, I loved the message of choosing yourself. It's sometimes the hardest choice of all.

Another cute little airport romance novella. As previously stated, I love a story set in an airport. Martin has it right, it really is a romantic place.

I'm always a sucker for an enemies to lovers romance - and I've been loving these STEM novels I've been reading lately. This author definitely seems to have a background in - or just a major love of - science, which made this a really interesting novel. I loved the banter between our MCs and I really enjoyed watching their story unfold. All in all, definitely could see myself recommending this to fans of The Love Hypothesis - it's got a similar vibe while being in a category of it's own.

I do love a good small town, second chance romance/the one that got away story. Throw in the fact that they were high school sweethearts had me devouring this story just to see if they would end up with a HEA. I love that recently I've been reading a lot more books with MCs in their thirties, which as a thirty-something year old woman I truly appreciate. I enjoyed how lighthearted and fun this read was and found the characters enjoyable - though I really wish I did get to know more about Hank's music career, I definitely think it was a missed opportunity to connect more with Hank and his life away from Baileyville. 3.5 rounded up.

I can't really think of many magical realism books I've read, but this one was thoroughly enjoyable once I finally connected with our MC. I really did enjoy the family diner setting, I felt it gave this book a really cozy, homey feel. One thing I noticed was that I felt like I wasn't sure what I wanted for the MC until a solid half way through the novel, which doesn't normally happen to me, I'm pretty quick to get a feel for what I want to see for the MC. I feel like the ending did end up tying everything together in a neat little bow and I enjoyed the conclusion. This book definitely gave me summer and beach-read vibes.

I really enjoyed this one over all - I felt like the twists and turns were just enough to keep me guessing and keep me engaged throughout the story. I found the characters to be engaging, with the exception of Emma, I really didn't exactly vibe with her. There weren't many parts that I felt were drawn out, dragged on or all together not needed which has happened in a few of my recent reads. I can definitely see myself picking up the next book in the series.
