I liked this book a lot, but I just felt like it was too short. Maybe I wasn’t aware of the fact that it’s a Novella (if it is), but I definitely felt like the first and second book could’ve been condensed into one bigger book or maybe onto two parts in one single book cause, although I haven’t read the second book, the first one just felt very short. 
I did like the ending, but I feel like that could’ve been a split in between part one and part two of a single book.

I think I’m gonna keep going with the series as I liked both Logan and Lana, as well as the plot and spice. I just simply don’t understand why it’s such a short book lol. 
I like the premise and I think I will like where it goes from now on so I’ll definitely keep reading these and I’ll let you all know my thoughts in the future about the following books. 3.5 for now!!

that was a very fast book omg. 

-i loved that we finally got a more love-interest side of darius in this book!!! he's slowly but surely crawling up my book boyfriend ranks, HOWEVER orion is still happily sitting at the top heheh
-max, wishing i saw more of him, was confused about his possible love story line, but can see where its going with xyz and im excityed to see how that pans out 
-wonder whats gonna happen with seth and his lust and need for darcy, as its kind of obvious how possessive and protective orion is, over her. 
-i think going forward, the twins are just going to hate on the heirs more than ever before, looking for revenge. 
-not sure whats gonna happen with orion and darcy but all through the book i was rooting for them, and i love them so much. i feel like maybe theyre becoming my number one couple, dethroning caleb and tory butttttttt darius and tory ..? im so so so excited to see where that goes. 
- their orders being phoenixes suits them both a lotttttt, they literally keep getting down and getting back up again. from when they were little, theyve been rising from the ashes and now i understand why they dont get burned, and why possibly, they handle fire magic a lot better without the protection suit on. 
-want to figure out who the man that was standing outside of their house when it burned down was. 
-the will they wont they of orion and darcy fueled me day by day as i read this book. their first night together changed me as a person and i need lance orion in my life. 
-washer is litwerallt a disgusting perv and creep.  hope he dies a painful death
-realluy really liked the contradictions and inner conflicts that caleb and seth were going through, as they both couldn't hurt the twins because they were emotionally literally bound to them. seth wanting to make darcy his omega and caleb having tory as his source!!!! i ate that dynamic up so hard
-darius being in constant conflict of i am not my father and then behaving exactly like him, or just follwoing his orders because he has to in order to assure that at some point he can dethrone him, while at the same time, having this deep pull for tory and just being kind of ashamed of his actions and having this mentality of "i wish i didnt have to do this" but his priorities are securing the kingdom, and it is a very interesting nuance. me likey but also me hatey bc i just want tory and darius together. 
-speaking of tory and darius, im kinda sad tory wasnt a dragon bc i wouldve loved a top tier dragon couple of darius and her. but alsooooo, i remain interested on how caleb navigates his and tory's relationship. 
-REALLY loved how jealous darius is constantly of caleb just kinda having tory at his disposal, and being unabashedly into her, while darius just refuses to admit he has feelings for her. like it goes beyond tory. he's actually jealous of caleb bc of how easy its for him to claim his interest in her. it's like he kinda compares his responsibility to his (darius: i cant afford to like my enemy bc I'm the leader of the heirs and i have more things at stake) so as much as he loves caleb, it does pain me to know that he kinda wishes his life was easier... as they put it in the book [if you ignore they're vegas, i really like them] 
-diego can eat shit for his comments on the twins, i hope he rots. you do NOT say that to your friends, you piece of shit. 
-i also feel like diego knows a lot more than he lets on, bc in the fair scene, when darcy slaps him she says that there was a lot of power emanating from him... so I'm completely sus of him. and his uncle too. the way that he so easily in one night, managed to slut shame both of the twins and did so happily... very very sus. 
-i loved the cute interaction of tory and xavier. and that whole night of darius and tory at his house... sigh... i want them together nowwwwwww its an enemies to lovers slow burn. 
-really liked the trials, i just wish they had gone for longer lmao, maybe thats just me but i really liked that aspect of this book so its a shame that they felt like a very small part of the book. 
-looking forward to  the nymph storyline progression as we didn't really get much of that in this book. 

 

overall, i really enjoyed this book!! it wasn't on my ruthless fae level of fangirling butttttt!!!!! i still did enjoy it a lot!!! ALSO it PAINS ME GREATLY, that all of the graphic audiobooks are not out yet, like wdym. i need them nowwwwwww!!!!! i feel very glad that i have like 5 books in between this one and the fourth ZA one, bc of the spinoffs, bc that means i get a break in which they could release more graphic audiobooks from the ZA books TnT, i doubt it'll happen but hey a girl can dream and hope. i miss all my graphic audiobook VAs, like their voices fit their characters so well, it pains me so bad that the audiobooks are not all out. so far for me, each audiobook has been a 5/5 experience, like i don't think i've listened to such fun audiobooks before!!

this is a modern classic for a reason!! the way it’s so accessible to read yet makes you feel so many things and makes you think about the state of the world both in the book and outside of the book is incredible. this is my first time rereading this book since i first read it in 2020. it’s held up the test of time and it’s so interesting to have read it and listened to it  in this year, considering how our world currently stands. this is a near perfect book in my opinion and i cannot wait to finish this trilogy to then read the two spinoffs!! also the peeta moments when he would essentially show katniss how much he’s payed her attention since even before the games had me on the floor in shambles. like that man is a perfect mannnnnn. love my lil boulder/rock man

Possibly a 5 star read!! I flew through this book and it was so fun and spicy. Love love loveeeee
