Witchful Thinking is a joyous and lighthearted story of romance with a touch of magic. When Lucy participates in a wish-granting spell, she never expects it to have the enormous impact on her life that it does. Fate brings her long-lost friend Alex, who is also a merman, back into the magical town of Freya Grove. Freya Grove has always had a healthy mix of humanity and magic. Alex has recently been given a house, which he intends to sell as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Lucy now finds herself being challenged to embrace all the items on her wish list. Can they rekindle their romance from long ago?
Lucy and Alex were a very cute and sweet couple. I have never seen a witch and merman pairing before and I loved it! The atmosphere in the book is cozy and warm. There are lots of little hints about the magic behind Freya Grove and I would love to see more about that. The writing at times felt a touch underdeveloped, but overall found this to be a quick and magical read. I would recommend Witchful Thinking for those who love second-chance, slow-burn romance, and sprinkles of magic! I’m looking forward to seeing what other effects the magical wish has for Lucy’s other relatives. Thank you to Celeste Martin, Forever, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Merry Little Meet Cute is a steamy and delightful read. Bee is successful in her career as an adult film star and she feels fulfilled. But when she tries to expand her portfolio, she is cast in “Duke the Halls”…a family-friendly Christmas movie. Her co-star is Nolan Shaw, previous boy band member and Bee’s childhood crush. Unbeknownst to Bee, Nolan immediately identifies her through her adult film work because he’s a fan. Holiday themed chaos and forced proximity ensues as the two get to know each other and keep their secrets from the studio.
I really enjoyed A Merry Little Meet Cute! Bee and Nolan had great chemistry. Both of them have crushed on each other for years without truly knowing each other and I think the authors pulled it off. I would highly recommend if you enjoy (ex)celebrity romance, inclusive writing, and glorious bisexual disaster characters. This book would be perfect for fans of Olivia Dade, Rosie Danan, and anyone who ever wished a Hallmark movie could have some more spice. Thank you to Julie Murphy, Sierra Simone, Avon, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers is a joyful and exuberant fairy tale. It is a perfect young adult summer romance read, as Micah races through the streets of Chicago to find the elusive “Boy 100.” Micah has fallen in love with strangers on his travels through the city and memorializes them on his instagram account in fantasy-inspired sketches that obscure their true identity. He has promised himself that he will actually ask out the next boy he meets- Boy 100. As Micah’s world expands with sudden fame, new friendships, and a real boyfriend- what does it mean to stay true to yourself?
This is a beautiful, queer, contemporary fairy tale of a book; I would highly recommend it to anyone. Readers looking for young adult books with queer joy NEED this book! I couldn’t put it down! Micah is hilarious and genuine, caring deeply for his friends and going to incredible lengths to find his Boy 100. Micah’s family was supportive and loving; I particularly enjoyed the scenes with his older sister and her girlfriend. The details of Chicago were beautifully descriptive and accurate- always maintaining a sense of adventure during summer in the city! Micah learns about what happily ever after truly means, who he can’t live without, and what great friendships he has. The supporting cast is distinct and entertaining to watch as they complete their own quests for love. I can’t wait to see what Adam Sass writes next! Jack Shannon has it all, until the day his mother is arrested. Summoned back to Las Vegas and his family hotel, Jack has limited time to clear his mother’s name. Luckily, he has suspicions about who would want to see his mother behind bars and the hotel in someone else’s hands. To pull off a heist to obtain proof, he’ll need all of his best friends to join him. As the stakes rise, how far must Jack go for his family and the hotel? Which is more important to him?
Aces Wild was a fun adventure! My favorite part was the asexual representation and found family. It took me some time to warm up to Jack, but as the heist began to take shape he became more likable. Remy was one of my favorite characters, I really enjoyed their positive attitude and loyalty to their friends. There were a couple plot holes that didn’t quite make sense, but I still enjoyed the story. If you can suspend your disbelief and enjoy heists, found family, and ace rep then you should check out Aces Wild! Thank you to Amanda DeWitt, Peachtree Teen, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
