Witchful Thinking is a joyous and lighthearted story of romance with a touch of magic. When Lucy participates in a wish-granting spell, she never expects it to have the enormous impact on her life that it does. Fate brings her long-lost friend Alex, who is also a merman, back into the magical town of Freya Grove. Freya Grove has always had a healthy mix of humanity and magic. Alex has recently been given a house, which he intends to sell as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Lucy now finds herself being challenged to embrace all the items on her wish list. Can they rekindle their romance from long ago?

Lucy and Alex were a very cute and sweet couple. I have never seen a witch and merman pairing before and I loved it! The atmosphere in the book is cozy and warm. There are lots of little hints about the magic behind Freya Grove and I would love to see more about that. The writing at times felt a touch underdeveloped, but overall found this to be a quick and magical read. I would recommend Witchful Thinking for those who love second-chance, slow-burn romance, and sprinkles of magic! I’m looking forward to seeing what other effects the magical wish has for Lucy’s other relatives. Thank you to Celeste Martin, Forever, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
