I absolutely love selkies, so I was very excited to receive this book! The Book of Selkie is a beautiful and charming story. For children or parents who love learning about mythical creatures, this is the perfect introduction to selkies. The Book of Selkie explores what selkies eat, where they live, and what they do all day! The prose is lyrical and descriptive. The illustrations are stunning, clearly done with immense care. The use of light and cool tones creates the sense of being underwater, immersed in an ocean where selkies roam. I would highly recommend this book for anyone, regardless of age. The Book of Selkie is available now! Thank you to Briana Corr Scott, Nimbus Publishing, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Under the Whispering Door is the story of Wallace, a man who is not ready to accept his own death. Luckily, he has the help of ferryman Hugo and the inhabitants of a mysterious tea shop to guide him. With only seven days until he crosses over to whatever comes next, Wallace must try to make the most of his time.
Under the Whispering Door is a poignant book about the grief and joy that life brings. TJ Klune writes found family, lovable characters, and important life lessons incredibly well. His writing is vivid and embraces the reader as they journey with Wallace. This story is haunting and will deeply move readers to reflect on their own lives. TJ Klune simultaneously gives hope and an understanding of how to continue on after tragedy. Reading this book is an unforgettable experience!
It can be hard to express how much some books mean, but I know I will be re-reading and recommending this one forever. Brew a cup of your favorite tea and grab tissues- I highly recommend you adventure with Wallace and Hugo! Thank you so much to TJ Klune, Tor Books, and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Wedding Setup was short and sweet! Sonali Dev is such a talented writer and I love reading all of her work. Since the death of her brother, Ayesha has found herself trying to keep the family restaurant going. When she finally gets a day off to celebrate her best friend’s wedding, she begrudgingly agrees to meet a date picked out by her mom and aunties. To her surprise, her brother’s best friend Emmitt is also there. As the night unfolds, the history between them makes it impossible for them to stay away from each other. But what really happened in the last seven years since they’ve seen each other?
Despite having less space than a traditional novel, Sonali manages to create a deep and loving history between Ayesha and Emmitt. Ayesha and Emmitt must unpack the trauma, guilt, and grief that lie between them and their happily-ever-after. I love how Sonali plays with classic tropes, while creating a romantic and heartwarming second-chance romance. I really related to Ayesha, who felt a responsibility to do whatever would make those around her happy after a tragic loss. It was fantastic to see her regain her personality and decide what she truly wanted. I would love to see more of these characters or other characters from this world! Thank you so much to Sonali Dev, Amazon Original Stories, and Netgalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
