I wanted more!!!!

I know that's the point of short stories but ugh I wanted a few more pages for Judith. Great dark fairytale vibes.

Snowed In with Benefits

I picked this book at random from my kindle library when I was wanting a snowy romance.

Instead I stumbled upon a 400 page behemoth of a book centered around a snotty spoiled celebrity disaster of a person. I couldn't stand Austin and I didn't have the patience to stick with this story in hopes he has some character growth down the line.

Sooooorry...

The amount of times I wanted to DNF this book was insane.

I found Anita's rants via audio nearly insufferable. I couldn't figure out where the story was going/what the entire point of the book was. I was feeling very impatient with Raquel, being a dumb new adult navigating the world for the first time by herself. I understood that NA characters are usually stupid and annoying but it was just so OBVIOUS that Nick was not the right person for her, and I just thought she was a great catch, and deserved better.

Once the story hit about 63% the pieces finally clicked together. I could see where the plot was taking me and I was HERE FOR IT. I am so glad I stuck with this book, although I do wish that it would have hooked me a bit sooner than over the halfway mark.

I LOVED the twist, where Anita, Jack, and Raquel took me. This book is going places and will be talked about a lot!!

Took off one star....because of the very very slow start...and slow middle....but WOWOWOWOWIE what an ending!!!!!

Well done and well presented!

As someone who grew up in the American school system I feel like this topic is rarely mentioned or even approached. I learned so much about America in this book. I am thankful for archivists and authors like Timothy Egan for sharing the truth about what happened during that time period, since it seems like American wants to breeze right past it and not share the horrid truth.

I was also shocked to hear my own home state mentioned a few times in this book. I had no idea about Oregon's role in the KKK or that my state has the last ever legal castration of a person. YIKES.

Needless to say, this was not an easy read but a very important and worth while one!

RIP Madge Oberholtzer, thank you for documenting your truth before succumbing to the darkness.

Very well written and enlightening! I really enjoyed the audio read by Brittany and her message is so important! Can't wait to share this with my friends.

I LOVED THE ACE REP IN THIS BOOK!!!

Alice was actually kind of annoying but as a new adult, navigating so many tough things, I feel like she had every right to be annoying AF.

I loved how she explains her sexuality. It makes a huge concept very easily understandable. I was swooning along with Alice how Takumi! He was truly delicious and I loved their friendship turned more. I feel seen!

A great resource, especially for someone who was diagnosed with ADHD later in life. This book made me feel seen and understood and provided some great tips on how to navigate adulthood as a neurodivergent woman.

I bought this book at the dollar store. The plot, setting and concept for this book is just too big, not thought out enough and just not easy to understand. The author's note was quite touching and I totally believe that this was a passion project for them, but I feel like maybe they're the only one that understands the world they created...

This FMC is very whiney and I am just not in the mood for romcom foolishness at the moment. My two best friends promised me I won't be missing much by skipping this one.

I loved learning about queer history on the tv screen!
