The slow burn was WAY TOO SLOW and the conflict made no sense at all. They were hot together, and I was enjoying the sexual tension but at 50% I became WEARY.
A great addition to the Oseman-verse!
I loved Angel and Jimmy. I thought it was really unique to hear from both POVs and see how different their perspectives were.
As always with Oseman stories, there is a wholesome, happy, inclusive element that just makes me feel at home.

For such a serious plot this book had no emotional depth. It's like AI wrote this book. It technically checks off all the boxes but it just felt weird and not good.
I wish there had been more emotional depth and plot development. When there is such a huge history and magic concept to grasp, I just think it's hard to squeezs that into so few pages.
Jorah was so fucking hot, Quinn was kind of a wet blanket and I didn't love the plot.
The cover is my favorite part of this book.

I was so excited for this book after finishing Kenney's first two Wicked Darlings books.
Unfortunately this one just did not make the same impact on me. The emotional depth wasn't there, the conflict wasn't engaging and I just didn't feel the connection between Jack and Emory.
I still plan on reading Rebecca's entire backlist this year!!!!

I appreciated Alicia's story and sharing her truth must have been so gratifying. I am glad more Intersex voices are speaking up and being highlighted.
HOWEVER, at times this book felt very preachy, like there were no room for other ideas or opinions and that it was her way or the highway. Especially the bit about cancel culture after quoting Harry Potter. It's uncalled for in this day and age no matter what caveat you add the end of the statement. Stop bringing up HP in 2024. Unacceptable.
The other thing I didn't quite relate to or enjoy was the fact that her white, pretty privilege wasn't acknowledged as much as I felt it needed to me. The amount of dates, hook ups, and propositions mentioned felt like a weird humble brag instead of whatever she was trying to get across. A lot of people do not experience that in any way shape or form and so it felt a little much.
Good for her for getting a book deal and speaking her truth, this just won't be a new favorite non fic for me.

This one started SO STRONG
I was really digging Ollie's vibe, I thought her life was really interesting. Jackson was kinda bland but I found the banter between the two of them really fun.
The further I got into the book, unfortunately.... I just stopped caring. I thought they didn't really go together and their banter became kinda cringe once they started to like each other.
Not my favorite 🥴🥴
