This book is so cool! That's the perfect word for it. There are cool powers, and a cool storyline and cool characters. Get the idea? If you can't tell, I liked it. A LOT.
I still don't even know all that Vale can do. New powers seemed to be revealed and developed constantly. I'm not sure if there is going to be another book or not, but I would love to learn more about her powers! It seems like she can do everything. She really is "all purpose", I thought that was hilarious.
Halloween time always makes me crave some good mystery books. The spookier the better! The Temple has a riveting mystery. It had so many layers. It kept me interested the whole time. I finished this book in one sitting.
The Temple focuses on The Wild Hunt. It was not at all how I had pictured the wild hunt. I had always associated the hunt with Artemis or Diana(from mythology) but Heather's Wild Hunt was way creepier! I loved reading and learning about it. I would be so freaked out to live in that town! I don't know how the residents do it, especially those that actually believe in the hunt. I would freak out if I heard people calling my name.
I didn't really understand why the Temple had to be kept a secret though. I would really like to learn more about that, but I loved this book. Vale is so strong and it was great to see her get more at home in the town and making some really good friends, espcially since she did not have that before in her life. She deserves it.
If you like magic, mythology and mystery this book is for you! All great M things- the only M missing is Michelle...(JK)

Eye Contact was gripping and totally addictive. I loved the chemistry between Addison and Spencer is awesome. I loved them! This book reminds me of X-men, which I also loved. My favorite part is learning about all the different "conditions" or powers that the various people have. The more unique, the better! People with powers are called the conditioned in Eye Contact and they are treated like a mixture of slaves and lepers. It's awful! But the ending really sets up the plot for the next book. And boy oh boy does book 2 look like its going to be awesome! I can't wait.
At first glance it seems like Addison is uptight and controlling but she really isn't. She is so kind and caring and determined. I really admired her drive. She never gave up. And it was really admirable how much she fought for the conditioned. It was really refreshing.
The conditioned all had such cool powers! They were really complex and some of them were super unique! Those were my favorites. I love when writers come up with talents and powers that have not been overdone.
Eye contact is pretty fast paced and jam packed with all sorts of plot twists. I enjoyed every second of the search and mystery. It was so well written and thought out! I liked that it was a complete story on its own and also sets up for a sequel really well. And speaking of the sequel- it is going to be a doozy. I can already tell!
I can't wait to see more of Spencer. ;) He is so awesome, as soon as he admitted his feelings for Addison he was extra swoon worthy. I just loved him. I want more more more of him. Great book! I can't wait for the next one.

I already wrote a review for this book and yet again, I lost it! Sad day. Ok, here goes attempt number two.
Deadly Cool is one of the funniest books I have read in a while! Gemma's writing reminds me of Meg Cabot. Which, if anyone knows me, knows that I LOVE Meg Cabot. She is my all time favorite author. I have been on a paranormal and suspense kick lately so it was so refreshing to pick up a contemporary and have it be as funny and fun as Deadly Cool. I loved it! I need to read Social Suicide right now!
Harley is like a mixture of Nancy Drew and Veronica Mars. Two very awesome, kick ass girls! All three of those ladies are savvy, smart, sassy and a bunch of other good S words. Such a great main character, with such a cool name!
Chase is also a nice name. And his name was not the only thing I liked about him. I was a sucker for Chase. And what he did for Hartley- sigh. I would like a chase overnighted to me please. I can't wait to see what is going to happen between the two of them in the next book. I read the teaser for Social Suicide and it drove me crazy! I need to read it now!!
I loved the murder mystery in Deadly Cool. It was really well developed. I particularly enjoyed how realistic it seemed. Too many times, I have read books where the law enforcement was completely incompetent so it was way too easy for the kids to sneak around and break into places to get the information that they needed. Here, everyone was actually doing their jobs.
Overall, Deadly cool is a fun read. I loved it! The mystery is great and there are plenty of twists to keep you interested and guessing till the end. And Chase certainly doesn't hurt the book either! I need to get my hands on Social Suicide ASAP!

Wow, wow wow! I think this may just be the best book of 2011! I cannot even express my love for Shatter Me properly. Tahereh Mafi has such a gift for story telling. Her writing style is so rich and detailed. It was a pleasure to read. I don't always take notice of writing style. Most of the time the writing does not jump out at me unless it is really badly written or very unique. Shatter Me is the exception. It is impossible to miss the beautiful writing of Tahereh Mafi.
Shatter Me grabs you right from the start and once it takes hold of you it does not let go. It's gripping, intense, fantastic and everything else a great book should be. It is a must read book for anyone.
I want a clone of Adam for myself please. I mean he was pretty much perfect, and I can't wait to see what is in store for him in the next book. I have a feeling there is much more that we have not learned about him yet. And Adam and Juliette together just makes me swoon. I loved the combination of awesome powers, kick butt action and an even more awesome romance. It was the best romance I have read in a YA paranormal in a long time.
I love the mystery that surrounds Juliette's powers and I can't wait to find out more about them! She is such a complex and well developed character and I think the girl on the cover depicts her perfectly!
Shatter Me is an example of YA done right. Everything fits together and all parts of the story complement each other. The result is an all encompassing reading experience. The writing is superb, the characters three dimensional and the story is magical. Read Shatter Me ASAP! Such an amazing book. One of my favorites for sure!

Holy cow, another guy!? How lucky can a girl get?? Seriously now Kristen has had not one, not two, but THREE guys fighting over her! Totally crazy. I remember after I read My Blood Runs Blue (book one in the series) I thought "what on earth is going to happen next?" The first book ended on a good, and what seemed to be a final, note. I was happy with Kristen's choice and I didn't know where the series was going to go next. Well I got my answer with Book 2.
Blue Blood for life picks up a few months after book 1 ended and there are some problems for the love birds. Enter a new guy, and a new villain and you have a whole lot going on. I liked this book even more than the first one. One thing I will note is that there was a lot of recap from the first book. I am not a huge fan of this. I know you want to remind readers what happened in the previous books so they are not coming in at the middle of a story, but I just don't like re-reading stuff I have already read.
I was a little sad to see that Alex was not really in too much of the book, but Jullian is back and so is new guy Trent. I really liked Trent and I was a little disgusted with myself for abandoning the Alex ship as quickly as I did. What on earth is with all these guys? They all seem so nice and good for Kristen that whenever one of them does something for her, I immediately am on their side. Ultimately, I liked Trent a lot more than Alex. I'm not going to tell you how things work out, or who she ends up with. That would take all the fun out of the book. Plus, I have no idea if she will even stay with this person much longer. Who knows- maybe tomorrow another new guy will come into the picture? Haha.
Blue Blood for Life is a fast paced, exciting read. I read it in no time, the pages just fly by. I really like how we get to see the story told from a few different POVs. I especially like seeing how different characters view or felt during the same event. It causes a little overlap but not much. Stacy does not dwell on the same things for each character so the POVs are not too repetitive.

Invisible is a good read. I enjoyed it a lot. Lola is a likeable enough character who goes through some not so ordinary changes. She can turn invisible. That's pretty cool! Think about all the stuff you could get away with if you could turn invisible. I liked that Lola's invisibility didn't come easy to her. I liked that she had to work and practice a ton to perfect it. This book reminded me a little of Fade by Robert Cormier. But a modern day, high school drama Fade from a girls perspective.
Lola got teased at school. Outside of school. Even at home. She got teased a lot. I felt so bad for her. Again it made me appreciate my high school. People didn't get teased like that. Unfortunately, not all school's are like mine was and the reality is that people do get teased and bullied. And none of it is acceptable. That's why when Lola and her friend Charlie come up with a plan to get back at the bullies I was all for it. And in the end- I LOVED what Lola did. It was my favorite part of the book!
Lola's character did get on my nerves slightly. She ended up being a strong person, and I really respected her for that. But a few times on her journey she was a little whiny. She didn't seem to want to do anything to help herself. Now I understand that she was going through a lot. She had a lot to deal with both at school and at home. I know it must have been tough for her, but a few times during her journey I found myself disconnected to her just a little bit. She won me over in the end though! Big time. I was so proud of her! :)
Overall, Invisible is a really inspiring read. It is such a touching journey. Jeanne Bannon really did a great job of making you feel like you are along for the ride with Lola. I would have liked a little big more in the romance department though. But what you do get is so realistic, and that is even better. I found myself having the same doubts as Lola, I didn't know who to trust, what to do next and how to just make everything better. Invisible is a really powerful book.

I LOVED this book! This was my first experience with Maria V. Snyder and I instantly fell in love. She has this amazing ability to describe everything so well. The people, the exotic places, the awesome plants- everything! I found myself so absorbed in the world that she created that I wanted to learn more about it. I was fascinated by all the plants and people, and I can't wait for the second book to learn more. This is odd for me; normally I am mainly concerned with the characters in a book. And while I loved the characters in Touch of Power, I was equally, if not more, interested in the surroundings. That is pretty impressive to me. I can't wait to learn more about the nine mountains.
Maria's Characters are as wonderfully complex as her scenery is vivid. Avery is strong willed and pretty awesome. Everyone knows I love my spunky girls. I had a lot of respect for Avery. She had a really long and tough journey in front of her and she never backed down. She stood up for what she believed in. I loved that about her.
I also really liked Belen. I was on team Belen for the longest time. It took forever for me to Like Kerrick. But I think that is the brilliance of Maria V. Snyder's writing. Everything is so real, so complex that it takes a while to get to know some of the characters. Just like real people, it takes time for them to grow on you. By the end I was HUGE Kerrick fan. He is so loyal. I feel like every time I describe someone that I like, I use the word loyal. But I put such stock in loyalty that it's no surprise that most of my favorite characters are fiercely loyal.
Overall, Touch of Power was an amazing book. One that has made it's way to my favorites shelf. The healer series is going to be magnificent. I cannot wait for the second book! Maria V. Snyder is a phenomenal writer. I need to go read everything else she has written ASAP! Great book, go read it now!

This book was pretty different than what I have been reading lately. I read plenty of paranormal books, but I have not had that much experience in alien books. I have seen plenty of alien movies, but reading about aliens is just plain different. It is creepier to me for some reason. I got pretty spooked a few times while reading Cicada. And I really liked that about the book! Although it might have been all the bug talk that creeped me out more than the aliens, I'm not sure yet. Haha.
Cicada is really well written, and it kept my interest the whole time. And man, oh man does this book keep you on your toes! I was guessing right up until the end, and I'm still left with unanswered questions. I loved the mystery that is presented in Cicada. Or maybe I should say, semi-presented. It is more like a giant puzzle that everyone has to put together.
I did think it was a little strange that Blair didn't have a single friend her own age. She only knew her brother's friends. But it was a good group of friends, I must say. Everyone had different strengths and they all worked well together. However, everyone was so focused on the mystery that there was not much room left to develop any sort of romance. So when one happened, it just kind of appeared in the story. It was a little random. I would have preferred a little more lead up to the romance in Cicada, but I am thinking there will be more of that in the next book.
I enjoyed Cicada and I have to know what is going to happen with everything we uncovered in the first book. I am so excited to read the second book. It is going to epic! This is not some simple mystery. It is so much more involved than that, and the complexity of it is what I love! I can't wait to see how everything is going to come together. Plus, I still have a ton of questions I need answered.

Enchanted is a pretty magicial read. It has a killer bad guy. I liked the other characters but I was truely impressed by the depth of the villian-ness of (blank). I really liked how it was history repeating itself too. I like those kinds of books, where you have to look to the past to figure out what happened and then change things so this time it turns out the way it should have.
The powers in Enchanted kind of reminded me of those in Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder. They are both more healing powers, used to help people. I really liked this aspect of magic. It wasn't all about spells. It dealt more with magical properties of plants and herbs and nature. Mandy although a little reluctant, was a really good student. I liked how much of a natural she was. The only thing standing in her way was herself. She just needed to admit to herself that this was all really happening.
I also really liked the setting of the book. For some reason, a small quaint town fit in perfectly with the tone of the book. Mandy is more of a big city girl, and I have to admit I am most of the time too, but I can see the appeal of a smaller, more laid back town. Maybe one that is like Stars Hallow. (Which is what I picture all small towns to be like in my head)
Mandy is a girl after my own heart. Quiet and shy, she prefers to blend in instead of be noticed. And she loves to read too! How perfect. I also loved that she liked the good, nerdy guy right away. I thought for sure it was going to be a different romance story line playing out, but I liked what happened in the book so much more than what I was expecting.
Overall, Enchanted is a really nice read. I loved the pacing of the book and I flew through it. It was unique and calming. I just curled up in bed and read it all in one shot. There are some exciting parts of the story, but for the most part I really enjoyed how relaxed I felt while reading Enchanted. It's a good book to pick up when you want to unwind. I really liked it.
