Twelve Months of Awkward Moments is a new adult romantic suspense by Lisa Acerbo. This book sent me on an emotional roller coaster ride. First, it wasn't at all what I expected it to be. I knew there was a stalker involved, but I didn't know too much more than that other than it was set at a college. I was expecting this to be a light romantic suspense story, heavy on the romance. And I have to tell you, this is a not what I would call a light read. It was much more intense than I was expecting. It took me a while to get my bearings with this novel, but I ended up enjoying the story.
The best part of Twelve Months of Awkward Moments were the characters. I absolutely loved Dani. I am going to be 100% honest with you. If I didn't love Dani so much, and if I didn't find her so relate able, this book would have taken me a lot longer to get through. I'm not even sure if I would have finished it. It's not that the book is not good. It is good, it was just a lot heavier than I was expecting. But I had to know what was going to happen in Dani's life. She pulled me in. Twelve Months of Awkward Moments is told from her perspective, which was a big winner for me.
The book does live up to the title as well. There are plenty of awkward moments that Dani faced in her senior year of college. And it was refreshing to see a plot that was not 100% predictable. Twelve Months of Awkward Moments felt unique in a really good way. Fans of romantic suspense, and books that tackle some serious issues will really enjoy Twelve Months of Awkward Moments. And I think you will fall in love with Dani like I did. She is a character that I feel will really resonate with a lot of readers. You can't help but fall in love with her and you can't help but to root for her.

Unleashed is the first book in the urban fantasy series by Bella Jacobs. It is the first book in the Dark Moon Shifters series, and I have to say the overall plot line for the series sounds excellent. Unleashed was a solid first book, but it did a lot of groundwork laying before any of the real fun started. As a result, I felt like most of the time I was reading, waiting to get to the next parts. But I don't think that will be the case in the second book and any of the other books, because now we really know who all of the players in the story are and we know what they are trying to accomplish. And it is a big plot line. They are trying to basically save the world.
In Unleashed we meat our heroine, Wren, who is pretty happy living in a cult. It seemed bizarre to me, but she was. Then she is taken from her house and is on the run with her captors, who open her eyes up to a whole new world of snifters and magic and a whole new level of bad guy. I think Unleashed will really resonate with plot driven readers because the plot took front and center. I am a character driven reader, so I was constantly looking for more character interaction. I did get more character interaction, but it took a while to get there. I know there will be a ton more interaction with each of the guys in the next book, and I am super excited about it. I can't wait to get to know them all so much better!
Wren is an interesting character. I can't quite pin her down. She wants to do the right thing, that's for sure. And on one hand she is really brave, but on the other hand she is pretty stubborn. Even though I can't get a read on her 100% of the time, I do know one thing. I really liked her.
Overall, Unleashed was a good read, but I think it is setting the stage for a fantastic book 2. I am so excited to jump into the next book in the Dark Moon Shifters series because I think it will have everything I love- action, swoony guys and kick butt romance. While, this book took a while for the story to build for me, the end result was so worth it. Bring on book 2!

Wolf Tamer is a paranormal romance by Yumoyori Wilson. Wolf Tamer is the first book in the Claiming my pack series and it is also the first book I have had the pleasure to read by author Yumoyori Wilson. Wolf shifters is something that my readings tastes go in phases with. Sometimes I love books featuring shifters and sometimes I burn out on the trope. At the moment, I am really into shifter paranormal romances. So when I saw a new paranormal romance that was a start to a series that intrigued me, I jumped all over it. And I have to say, I really enjoyed Wolf Tamer.
I love that our main character, Harper can interact with different breeds of wolf. I actually really loved that the author took the time to distinguish and differentiate between different breeds. It gave me the chance to see different personality types come out with the different characters. It was a cool touch to the story that I think added a lot of character depth and development. We saw the most of Ian, but we did get to see some of the other shifters. I loved Ian, but I am really hoping that we get to see a lot more of them in the next book. (I think we will!)
I had a love/ dislike relationship with Harper. In Wolf Tamer we get to see glimpses of Harper at different stages in her life. I liked Adult Harper but I didn't love the younger voices we saw. It seemed like she still remained pretty naive throughout a lot of the story. She eventually grew on me, but she did have quite a bit of growing up to do in a large chunk of Wolf Tamer. I think this is something that won't be an issue in future novels, but it was something I had to power through in this one.
I can't wait to see where this series is going to take us. Wolf Tamer ended on a pretty big cliffhanger, but I really liked the foundation that was laid with this story. I think we are going to get to know all of the characters better in the second book, and I think the second book has a ton of promise to really pick things up and expand on what looks like it will be a great series! I am excited for more.

Your Sound is the third book in the Sherbrooke Station series by author Katia Rose. Each of the books in the Sherbrooke Station series can be read as a standalone. I haven't read either of the first two books, but I did really enjoy Your Sound. I don't read a ton of books about rock stars or musicians, it is not something I want to read about too often, but every now and then I see a book that catches my eye. And that happened with Your Sound. I think it was the way the main characters were described. I felt instantly connected to Molly and JP, in a way that I can't really explain. I just knew that as soon as I saw the summary for this book, I knew it was a romance I wouldn't want to miss.
And I was right, I did love Molly and JP. I really felt for Molly. I could certainly relate to her. She gets so nervous and anxious around people that it can be really debilitating sometimes. She said something at one point in the story that really hit home with me, because as I am getting more stressed lately, it has been something I have struggled with as well. Molly said that she has a hard time not imagining the worst possible senario for any given thing. She just obsesses over everything that can go wrong and it overwhelms her. I really felt for Molly. And I was determined to see her get her happy ending.
Molly is super shy, but her roommate is in a serious relationship with someone from Molly's favorite band- Sherbrooke station. Can you even imagine how uncomfortable that would be? Having a huge fangirl crush on a guy, only to have him be head over heels for your roommate? I have never read Ace and Stephanie's story, but I don't see him being a good match for Molly. Now, JP on the other hand is the right balance of easy going and calming to mesh with Molly. JP always makes Molly feel at ease, which is like liquid gold for her. Can you tell that I really love JP and Molly together? Not to mention they are both so talented- Molly is a great budding artist and JP is super musically talented.
I loved watching their friendship turn into something more. There were a few road bumps along the way, and a few annoyances within those road bumps for me, but overall this was a really sweet, and cute romance. I can't wait to read about the other members of Sherbrooke Station in their own stories. I will definitely be checking them all out. This was a fun romance and would be great for fans of art and music.

I bet You is a new adult sports romance by Ilsa Madden-Mills. While it is the second book in a series, each of the books are interconnected standalones that can each be read by themselves. I have read a few of Ilsa's other books and I have loved them, so even though I didn't read the first book in this series, I wanted to check this one out. I am sucker for a story featuring a bet plot. But once I started reading, I will admit I was a little nervous that I wouldn't like I Bet You. In fact, I put it down several times in the first 20% of the book. But a few weeks after I set the book down for the second or third time, I decided to pick it back up again. And Once I picked it up that last time and I pushed through to about the 30% mark of the story, the whole vibe of the book changed and I was much more interested. Does that ever happen to you? The start of a book can feel really slow, or doesn't allow you to connect with the characters, but once you read further everything starts to click and you start to get more into the story and the characters? That is exactly what happened with me and I Bet You.
I Bet You is set on a college campus. The football team has a bet war going on, and our main character Penelope, gets caught in their crossfire with a bet. I didn't care for much about this initial bet scene. Penelope and Ryker (the school quarterback) both rubbed me the wrong way, and the book just seemed a bit too superficial. But I am so glad that wasn't my impression of the while story, because the more I got to know Ryker and Penelope the more I understood them and the more I liked them.
While I Bet You is not one of my favorite of Ilsa Madden-Mills' books, it did have her signature flirty humor and a great romance. It ended up being a fun read for me, but it was a bumpy start. If you are a diehard fan of Ilsa Madden-Mills, you won't want to miss this book. The romance that grows between Penelope and Ryker was great, and their story is one that I think a lot of fans will really enjoy. If you are a new fan of hers, I would suggest you start with her Briarwood Academy series.

The Empire Saga is a new adult fantasy romance, my very favorite kind! I really enjoyed two Thousand years and I can already tell that The Empire Saga is going to be a series that I will love! I am already itching to get my hands on the next book! I don't see too many new adult fantasy's but it is one of my very favorite genres, especially when there is romance involved.
Two Thousand Years starts with a setup that I have found I really enjoy. Our main character, Alexandra, is a normal girl living a very normal life, before she gets swept away into a fantasy world. I mean, who doesn't dream of that at least once? I ended up liking Alex, and I think she is the type of character that I will continue to like more and more as the books go on, and the series progresses and grows. But she started out pretty strong. I mean she was dumped into a crazy new world, and once we learned about the prophesy things got even crazier. I do wish we got a little more background on the prophecy itself, but that might be something we learn more about in upcoming books. I have a feeling there are plenty of twists, turns and surprises up M. Dalto's sleeves, and I cannot wait to discover what they are!
As much as I liked Alex as a character, there was one character that completely stole my heart, and what was Treyan! Can you say swoon? I loved him throughout the whole novel, but as a character he also manages to have impressive growth from the start to end of the novel. He just kept getting better and better! I will have more on Treyan and Alex after I read the sequel, so hold tight for my romance thoughts after the next book, but for now, just know that I love Treyan with a serious fierceness. And then we have our villain- Reylor. He is an interesting fellow, and one that I am seriously looking forward to learning more about. I did feel like his character development felt a little flat at times in the book, but I think we will peel back more of his layers as the series progresses. Once we do, I think Reylor might be one of the most interesting characters in the series!
Bottom line: If you are a fan of fantasy romance, and you are looking for a great new adult fantasy novel, you need to check out Two Thousand Years. This book has an excellent world set up and a fantastic plot. It is one of my favorite books of the year, and I can't wait to continue on with this series! I need book 2 in my hands right now.
