I always enjoy a good Daryl Banner book and I'm finally starting on the Spruce series (only 9 books behind currently) but I enjoyed the visit to the little town and interacting with the people there. I enjoyed the budding romance and tension faced with the two MCs because Daryl knows how to write well written male characters and understand how they feel and not romanticizing everything. He brings actual relationship concerns into his stories.
Can't wait to read more of this series.

This was a very different Aron book but one I truly still enjoyed. It's like a slow burn extreme horror because normally Aron jumps straight into the gore but with his longer works, he takes his time getting there and it's worth the pay off.
This book focuses so much on the character's emotional journey and trauma and what that actually means to live with and work through. The main character goes through so much and we learn so much about him.
I really enjoyed this because it felt like Aron was breaking out of his comfort zone. The more he writes, the better he gets with being so much more than a gore writer but a story teller.
I only didn't rate it a solid 5 because the strange supernatural elements I felt was odd in this story and, he has done supernatural things before, but this one just felt a little odd.

Absolutely one of my favorite books of all time! I decided to read it again after reading it 20 years ago and it did not dissapoint. The characters are great and the story just keeps going and doesn't give way. With so many characters, you learn about them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this gothic modern novel. The main character is diverse and I really enjoyed they are openly autistic. I felt a lot of similarities in the way the character views the world and myself, even down to food issues.
The emotions felt real and not dramatic the way some novels can do that. The feelings and tensions were great and the story was well thought out and fleshed out in such a great way. It is graphic and gory in some parts but it's not that bad but just be warned.

This was such an awful book I struggled to finish it. The author makes horrible connections between the trans community, the kink and fetish community, and those suffering from mental illness and trauma. They connect them all in such harmful ways that I am surprised this book was published. The POVs from one of the character is absolute brain rot and the commentary the author tries to put in there becomes completely invalidated because the character is mentally unstable.
The ending was absolute garbage and so stupid. It was such a cope out and tried to make sense of everything that happened. I'm no stranger to extreme horror but the violence and gore in this book just was so stupid and pointless and gross for the sake of being gross.
Do not recommend. If you have this, trash it.

I've always enjoyed Adam's work but I really enjoyed when he delved into more sorry horror work. It's really good stories and he does a really good job of capturing the story and doing he trying to tell.
