This is one of those books that is just hard to review. It is hard to find the right words to describe this story and things it makes you feel. It is just one of those that you truly need to experience.

From the start of this series I loved both Lyra and Thatcher as individuals, but together…..there are just no words for how much I love the two of them.

Lyra’s life was changed at a young age. Thatcher played a major role in that change. They are both such dark and damaged hearts. They are drawn to each other. They may be the only people in the world to completely understand the darkness that each of them feels.

But that ending!? I am dying for the second book in this duet because I need to know what happens and I just want more of Thatcher and Lyra.

While this could be read as a standalone, it is truly best to start with book one to fully understand the characters, the world and overall story.

If you’re looking for a dark, anti hero, romantic suspense then this is one to check out.

Julia and Van’s story picks up right where things were left at the end of Red Sin. I loved diving back into their world. It is full of passion, secrets, and plenty more twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last sentence.

I LOVED Julia in this book. I love that she is taking control and speaking up. Her growth from book one to the end of this book is amazing and I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow! Van….the man is full of secrets and I love that they are all slowly starting unravel and providing more insight into who the man is today.

Julia and Van’s chemistry is off the charts and I feel like their bond has gotten even deeper as they go down the rabbit hole together. I can’t get enough of them and I can’t wait to see how their relationship continues in book three of their story!

If you’re looking for a romantic suspense story this is one to check out, but start with Red Sin!

The Damaged picks up where things were left hanging in The Insiders and this story leads to some answers, even more questions, and one doozy of a cliffhanger!

I LOVE Bailey! The woman has been through a lot, she has a lot of people against her, yet she keeps fighting. She is insanely smart and talented and she isn’t about to let a few people get into her head. Kash has gotten even more protective of Bailey and I love that. He is slowly letting her in somewhat, but also doing everything that he can to ensure her safety.

Kash and Bailey’s relationship has strengthen and their bond has grown throughout this book. I absolutely love their relationship and I am looking forward to seeing how the relationship continues further, especially after the events at the end of the story.

I am loving Team Batt! I absolutely love the bond and relationship that Matt and Bailey have developed over the course of books 1 and 2. I can’t wait to see how that relationship continues in the next book.

I loved that there were a few chapters from Kash’s POV and getting inside his mind a little bit! I hope there is more of that to come.

If you’re looking for a romantic suspense story check this one out, but you must read The Insiders first!

Amanda is in her 40’s, she is a mother, a grandmother and she is finally getting the chance to live her life. I loved her. She is coming from a rough situation and she got herself out, she realized that she can’t live the life she was living and that she deserves so much more. Things still aren’t easy at times, but she continues to fight and never gives up.

Greg is a young anesthesiologist. He is also Amanda’s sons best friend. He was a witness to her previous life and there was something in him that wanted to protect her. He was always drawn to her. Greg stills feels a protectiveness when it comes to Amanda. He is caring, he is sweet and I love that he just wants her to live and enjoy life. He shows her that she is amazing and loveable.

I loved the chemistry between Amanda and Greg. Despite their age gap, there was something between the two of them. They didn’t rush into anything, but enjoyed the friendship and companionship that the two of them formed before taking everything to next step.

I loved getting to know the secondary characters in this story and I can’t wait to continue reading this series!!

If you’re looking for a slow burn, reverse age gap, son’s best friend romance this is one to check out!

The middle Monroe daughter, Parker, is getting her chance at a love just like her parents and the ride is completely worth it!

I loved Parker. I loved that she didn’t easily give into Holden’s advances and really made the man work for it and prove that he isn’t who she thinks he is. Holden is ultra swoony! The media portrays him as a major player, however, there is more to him than that. He is super sweet and caring. While, he hasn’t ever done the relationship thing there is something about Parker that makes him want to finally settle down.

The moment Parker and Holden meet their chemistry is sizzling and heating up the pages. However, their relationship itself is a slow burn, but one that is completely worth the wait. I loved the push and pull of their story. I love how hard Holden is willing to work to prove to Parker that she is something more and something different.

If you’re looking for a slow burn, sports romance this is one to read!

This book is a SLOW burn to the T and the characters have complicated pasts.
Blue works at an animal sanctuary and I absolutely love that and I loved her. You can feel her love and passion for the animals and the farm. When she finds out from her best friend, that a Hollywood superstar is coming to the farm to complete some community service she was less than thrilled.

Aidan is no stranger to getting into trouble which is how he landed at the sanctuary, but along with him comes his older and rather broody brother, Shane. The brothers have a history together, the have a history individually. Like Blue, they have complicated pasts and are working towards a better future.

I loved the secondary characters in this book, especially Mona. She was hilarious and I loved that she was a great mother figure to Blue. The secondary characters all played a strong part in this story, even the animals that Blue takes care of.

For a good portion of the beginning of this book I truly couldn’t figure out if it was Aidan or Shane Blue was going to end up with. She had a connection with both of them and I’d be convinced she would end up with one and a few pages later start to doubt that. Maybe this was just something I didn’t catch on personally, but it took a bit. This is told in a single POV from Blue’s perspective and there were times where I was wishing it was Dual POV just to add a little more insight into the overall story, especially towards the end.

If you’re looking for a small town, slow burn romance check this one out.

This story was full of a banter, a delicious slow burn and heat. I instantly got sucked into the story and it was difficult to put it down at times.

I love Tali. She is hardworking and really does anything and everything she can to help her family. Though, at times it does seem like the weight of the world is on her shoulders. Hayes, well he is an arrogant jerk, however, there is also so much more to him. I loved seeing the different side of him that seemed to come out for Tali. The two of them have amazing chemistry from the start and I loved all the tension between them. So many times I just wanted them to give into each other, to give into the connection that was pulling them together constantly.

There are a few times throughout the story that I wish it was a dual POV and I could have gotten Hayes POV on things that had happened, but I still loved Tali’s side of it all.

If you’re looking for a slow burn, workplace, enemies to lovers romance this is one to read!

Felicity is back home for the summer and she has some new neighbors, Leo and Sig, who she met in a rather hilarious way. She becomes friends with them and grew especially close to Leo.

There is an instant attraction between Felicity and Leo, however, he is leaving at the end of the summer and they know whatever they have can’t go anywhere. However, what is between them in undeniable and they take things moment by moment. Their story is full of ups and downs, love and heartbreak. Their story isn’t a quick one, it is a slow burn and spans five years.

This story was unexpected. I wasn’t expecting how emotional it would be. Seriously, you’ll want some tissues close by because they will be needed while reading. I’m pretty sure I spent the last 30% just in tears.

I may be in the minority in this but I loved Sig from the beginning and even more so at the end. Plus, he added some witty comments throughout the story which I loved.

If you’re looking for an emotional, slow burn, opposites attract book this is one to read!

The Spark was unexpected in a good way. From grabbing the wrong luggage and meeting to exchange it that led to a weekend neither one forgot to 10 months later running into each other at the most unlikely of places.

I absolutely loved Autumn and Donovan. There are so many layers to each of these characters and I loved getting to know more about them and their pasts throughout the story. Autumn is caring, loving, hardworking and you can see how much she loves helping people but she is also broken and closed off. I loved the growth of her throughout this book. By the end I was proud of her for standing up and for getting the justice that was well deserved. Donovan is the exact opposite of what you’d expect. He had to work hard for everything in his life, he had to overcome obstacles that many people didn’t have to. He is caring, sweet and genuinely just wants to help.

I loved the instant spark between Autumn and Donovan and I loved seeing that spark grow, despite the fact that Autumn kept him firmly in the friendzone. While everything may have started with a spark, these two are a burning wildfire by the end. I loved their friendship, their relationship, their quirks. While Autumn passed all of Donovan’s test, he gave her faith and hope and a safe place.

Lauren’s family is controlling, they want her to be a part of the family business, which she is, but it isn’t her passion. She has tried to live her life away from them, but her family always seems to find a way to prevent her from being truly happy. Taylor had NFL dreams, but those were crushed. Now he just coaches high school football. He still has guilt over what has happened in the past and is hesitant on opening himself up again.

There is an instant connection and no shortage of chemistry between Lauren and Taylor. You can guess from the title there is a lot of denial and friend zoning, but with the chemistry brewing between Lauren and Taylor it can only be ignored for so long.

The Denial Game is full of tension, chemistry, romance, steaminess, banter and some drama. Lauren and Taylor are easy to fall in love with and you can’t help but want them both to find the happily ever after they both deserve.
