Adam Kay had me in fits of giggles throughout the book. I absolutely loved the juxtaposition of humour and hardship realities of working within the NHS.

It is a clever little book and look forward to reading even more of his works.

I really enjoyed the eeriness set about within the story and the almost classical writing style provided at the start of the book however towards the end as the plot starts to pick up and shift towards it’s resolution, it felt almost out of place.

I was a bit apprehensive picking this up as I wondered if it would be too academic for me too enjoy. I had nothing to fear.

This book strikes a perfect balance of story telling and insight into the wonderful tales of Greek mythology in a way that immerses without overwhelming. It is well structured with guides and annotations to help guide along the way.

This has certainly started a taste to find more reads with Greek inspiration and really enjoyed the take of a view back at the Titian’s to really set a grounding for the stories shared throughout!

Having really enjoyed mythos I was excited to see where Steven Fry would take these tales next. I’ll have to admit I have a soft spot for tales on Greek mythology and this is no exception.

A personal favourite is the recounting of the trials of Hercules!

Full of little gems and relatable moments and thoughts. It is evident that this book was written with a lot of care and love.

Matt Haig captured beautifully small moments and snippets  of life and thoughts to help navigate across his own experiences with life’s struggles. It is a great book to pick up at any time just as a little pick me up.

A quick collection of short stories to provide a small cut away into a wizards equivalent of a fairy tale. A nice quick read for any Harry Potter fan.

Really enjoyed this dystopian tale which touches upon real world issues in a way that doesn’t feel like non-fiction but allows for  a sense of tension and  compassion for the characters.

The plot line is unlike anything I’ve ever read which I’ve really enjoyed  the layers of thought that have gone into the subtle details which makes everything feel very intentional.

A beautiful read. The plot recalls the secretive past of the Gracie as she revisits a life and love long ago.

I absolutely loved the characters  and felt that even with the back and forth of time periods as Gracie recalls the past and the couple POV storylines it didn’t feel disjointed and complimented eachother wonderfully.

Something is certainly to be said for the twist ending which I can genuinely say I hadn’t expected and audibly gasped when reading. This is the kind of book you wish you could forget just to re-read and experience anew all over again.

Re-reading the series it’s great to revisit some of the fun details missed in the movies! The plot line feels more clever and tactile that I believe the movie can capture.
