I really wanted to love this. I started it, loving it. Blending myth into actual science was what I came for, based on what was promised in the intro. But that only lasted for maybe 2 sections. Then it was like myths were completely forgotten. Half the point of the book was missing. Still interesting science but...

I was not prepared for this one to hit me so hard! While I did enjoy the first book, (enough to pre-order the fancy second one!), I really feel like Thea Guanzon found her stride with this one. It feels richer and more fleshed out.

You always expect a book 2 to end on a cliffhanger, with lots of loose ends. Book 3 will be the epic finish to bring it all together.

It's not the cliffhanger getting me... it's the emotions and thoughts that I KNOW the characters will have because of the cliffhanger. They will NOT be ok, so I am NOT ok!
