well they made one of the characters a mean gay poet with scoliosis and anorexia which is pretty much my entire brand so can safely say this book saw me tooooo damn well

made me use critical thinking skills i normally reserve for Socratic seminars 

jesus. 

this explains why all waterparks lyrics feel like they scraped out my brain and put it in song form

worldbuilding was elit, characters are complex and easily attached to. the plot maintains itself well while also not becoming too absorbed in its own mystery

LOVED the art style

honestly this REALLY hit home but the art style did not appeal to me. i also listened to the musical at the same time and that lent an interesting layer to the dichotomy of alison and bruce's stories and arcs.
