A Love Like No Other
This. This is a LOVE Story. Though, there are so many layers in this art piece— The love between Shaun Taylor and Caprice Latimore is outer worldly. Shaun is the blueprint for what a man, lover, best friend should be. The love started young but it wasn’t superficial, honestly it was deeper than most people will ever experience deep into adulthood. I’ll probably read this book every year and add to the review every time because it is just that good.
This book has a trigger warning⚠️ but the author did not just give us the heavy heartbreaking trauma, she also gave us recovery and healing.
So many elements that speak to me personally. This book had tragic elements, true friendship, LOVE, healing, honesty & the author executed it flawlessly. I really can’t put into words how great this book is!
I am sure it was challenging to write about black kids in poverty who experience deep trauma. How we are vulnerable to untreated mental health Issues: negative self-image, depression, anxiety, etc. and the vulnerability to verbal, sexual, and physical abuse/violence.
Shaun and Caprice’s friendship & love— they are best friends, soulmates. This wasn’t a puppy love, even when they were teenagers. I truly believe Shaun loves Caprice to death and beyond. There’s nothing that he won’t do for her. Shaun will always be my favorite hero of all time!! He had no formal training but he saw her and instantly wanted to do all he could to love and protect her. & Kahfi— I can’t spoil this, you have to read this book.
The love they share is selfless, timeless.

This is the type of 5 star read that stays with you forever, not only because it’s unforgettable but because it’s so amazing you don’t want to let it go.

I seriously didn’t want this book to end
This book was very well written, it was filled with passionate dialogue and action grabbing scenes. Amir & Jordyn’s beginning is just beautiful.. chef’s kiss 👌🏾
The Author did a wonderful job capturing Jordyn’s development and Amir’s want & ability to love her where she was at. Love to see Black Women leave relationships that are not meeting their needs and fun a real, true love without the suffering. Thank you for this beautiful art piece. I would loveee to see this couple again. This book made me a fan of this Author, I will definitely highly recommend this book and author to other readers.

An expressive King
5 Stars because it’s my review and I really enjoy this read.
First, I know his name is Ja’Ivan but I just want y’all to know that I’ve been calling this man Jovon this whole book because in my head he black too. I love him! He’s such a great leader and they way he loves Brandy, he had no problem telling her how he felt. We love an expressive King.
One of my favorites parts: “You are the only one who is allowed to see the real me. I look forward to the time when we are alone, and I am no longer a clan leader but your man.” Okay Jovan!!!
Black Science Fiction is my favorite and this book didn’t disappoint. Brandy was brave, fearless, and she loved her people both Human and Relic. I STAN a strong heroine

I was telling my husband that I love reading books written by black authors because it gives me the same good vibes as being around other black people.
I LOVE Kay Shanee’s flow and writing style, it’s captivating. Myla & Kolby— I am so happy that their story was told. I love a man that is serious about his woman and children!

The Author does an amazing job of creating captivating characters that reel you in immediately. I fell in love with this journey of discovery of love & self, healing, and compassion. There’s some heavy content in this book but AshleyNicole does a great job of addressing/unpacking it. I enjoy black love stories with depth and this book didn’t disappoint. I did not want this book to end, this is the kind of book that makes you binge read the author’s entire catalog. This is the kind of book that makes you miss the characters when the book ends.
