This is my first foray into Manga, and I'm not disappointed! I thoroughly enjoyed the concepts that this makes you think about, and reminds me a bit of Dexter. Is it all right to kill if it's for a "good cause"? Will definitely be picking up the rest at the library!

The author provided me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Let me begin by saying I didn’t realize this was a sequel until I was looking at the Goodreads profile to include it on my review. 😂 Even though it says it on the cover of the book in the email I got and everything. Oops! It would explain why I was confused at the beginning, but eventually picked up on stuff as we moved forward in the book.

That being said, this is a very fast paced book. Things happen one right after another, quickly propelling you through the story. Though this can mostly stand on its own, I do wish I had read the first book before reading this one because it felt like there’s information I was missing. I enjoyed the characters and their predicament (it reminded me a bit of the TV show Supernatural). However, for the first half, I struggled to connect to them. I needed that bit of background information to push me just over the edge.

One of the aspects that I enjoyed most was the lush descriptions of the world where the demon lived. The author is excellent at description, and the world he created seemed absolutely beautiful! Even the descriptions of magic and the supernatural stood out to me from the rest of the writing.

Overall, this is an enjoyable read, especially if you’re looking for something fast paced with lots of cliff hangers.

Oh I liked this more than I thought I was going to? There were just some beautiful panels when he was fighting Venom. And now I'm invested. I need to know what happened to Aunt May!

An excellent wrap-up to this story line. One of the things that's always drawn me to Spider-Man was despite everything that happens to him, he's always willing to get back up and fight again. And his family and friends encourage him to. I don't think he'd be able to give up being Spider-Man even if he really tried.

Thanks to Net Galley and Delacorte Press for providing me an early copy of this book to review! It was a wild ride, honestly. Throughout the book, we get these two different realities for Chris without really knowing which is the real one until the end. The way that Tebbetts weaves these two realities is genius; he drops subtle hints that you don't really pick up on until Chris starts talking about alternate timelines. 

In terms of characters, Chris definitely had a lot of growing up to do at the beginning of the book. He was very focused on his own little world and his own plans that he didn't really think about anyone else around him. The two different timelines help him to work through these insecurities, and help him to grow throughout the book. I almost liked his best friends better than him, though they don't get a whole lot of development. But their banter together was fun, and made it an overall lighthearted read.

Tebbetts puts a fun spin on the coming-of-age story in this fun play on alternate realities. A perfect read to bring with you to the beach!

Thank you to Simon Pulse for sending me a copy of this book to review! Quite honestly, it is the perfect summer read. Reading about Willa and Taylor's sailing adventures will inspire you to have adventures of your own. Maybe not necessarily this summer, but Willa and Taylor's story is inspiration to live life to the fullest.

The relationship between Willa and Taylor is the best thing about this book. They're two friends drawn together by their love for Finley. Both of them are grieving for their best friend, and they don't realize that no one else understands how they feel. They need each other in order to figure out their grief.

There's lots of adventure in this book, too! Also, there's romance and lots of beaches and descriptions of beautiful places. Together, Willa and Taylor learn that they're capable of more than they ever thought. By the end, they're able to admit things about themselves that before the trip they would have never even admitted to themselves. Seriously, I loved this book! You'll definitely want to pick it up when it comes out this August.

Finished just in time for Book Club tomorrow night! It took me a little bit to catch onto the world building and get everything straight in this book, but the characters are definitely what makes it. Zafira and Nasir are very compelling characters and their chemistry throughout the book was very well written. I would keep reading just for them!

A weird end to the Marvel Knights Spider-man series, especially since there's a different author. It almost felt like there was too much going on here--but maybe that was necessary to creat a bridge? Overall, not my favorite writing or art.

Out of all the BN Book Club picks for this year, this one was the most engaging for me. The characters were strong and kept me reading, and will definitely make for interesting discussion on Tuesday!
