Some parts of this book were a bit ridiculous, like how many head injuries Ellie sustained without needing to see a doctor or ending up seriously ill. I also hated how refusing to take medication for anxiety/depression was portrayed as the right thing to do. Apart from those niggles though I really enjoyed this book. The story was gripping and I liked the main characters. Although I wasn't a fan of Ellies mum, I just couldn’t get my head around why she did the things she did. I also guessed part of the twist but I was still gripped until the end and I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series to see how Ellie’ character develops.

I absolutely love this series. Matilda and her team are all such great characters and I love getting to know them more with each book. This one is book 6, and I would recommend reading them in order so that you can see the characters grow and know the baggage they all carry. In this book we get to see more of Matilda’s vulnerable side and I just want to give her a big hug.
With regards to the case, I did guess who the culprit was and why but it wasn’t until a bit later on and it didn’t ruin it for me. It actually just made me constantly second guess myself. I was hooked until the very end and was praying for a certain character. I have never been so tense in my life. Also I need book 7 asap.

Such a great series that is still just as good as it was at the start. I love catching up with the main characters and I felt kind of emotional seeing Harris go off to Nursery. It’s such a great team and Josie is an amazing protagonist. Definitely recommend reading these in order though because everyone’s backstories help you connect more.
As usual, this was a gripping and tense read. I spent the whole book racking my brain to work out who the bad guy was and failed which I love. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and I could not put the book down until I knew what had happened because I didn’t trust Lisa to not break my heart. Lisa Regan knows how to suck you in and give you lovable characters with stressful lives. I hope we have more Josie Quinn and the team to look forward to.

I didn’t enjoy this book. I’m not sure what exactly was missing but I found it boring and I wasn’t a fan of Dan or Lexi. Dan’s personality is his missing wife and Lexi’s is that she’s in love with Dan. I don’t understand why Lexi is working for the police again for free when they treat her badly and always reject her ideas anyway. It was also ridiculous that Lexi still thinks she can handle murder cases on her own considering how the first book ended. The book ended with a cliffhanger but I’ve lost the urge to find out what happened to Dan’s wife. Don’t think this series is for me.

Such a great series. All the books can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order just to get to know the characters. Helen Fields writes in such a way that you can’t help but be sucked in. Perfect Kill is such a tense read and harrowing in places but it is impossible to put down. I needed to know what was going to happen to all of the characters I had grown so attached to.
There are so many great characters in this series and I love that the seriousness of the case is balanced perfectly with humour and banter between the team. The characters personal lives also add to the story instead of distracting and I really hope we get to see how and if Ava and Luc can get past their awkward relationship.

I only recently discovered Melinda Leigh but I am now a huge fan of her writing. Her crime thriller with added romance suspense had me hooked until the very dramatic end. I couldn’t work out if Justin was innocent or not and the twists and turns added to the tension. This book is full of amazing lovable characters and I really hope we get to know them more and see more of this series.
I wasn’t too keen on the first half of this book. It was a bit slow going and it just didn’t keep me engaged. However, the ending definitely made up for it. I had no idea what was coming. Looking back there were hints but nothing obvious enough to ruin the reveal and boy was it a reveal. I also wasn’t sure about the main characters, especially Iris and Slattery, at the start but after getting to know them better and reading more of their personal lives they definitely grew on me.
I am excited to have a new series to add to my collection and I look forward to any future Iris Locke books. I will definitely be picking them up. I need more of them in my life.

Really enjoying this series. Ellie’s character has definitely grown with this book and I love the chemistry/awkwardness between her and Derrick. Her complicated family also really adds to the story. This is a great read full of suspense and I spent the whole book suspicious of many characters but constantly switching who I thought the bad guy was. The ending was full of drama and I definitely hadn’t predicted any of it. Shona's abduction really adds to the tension making it impossible to put down. I hope we have more of this series to look forward to.

When I read the synopsis of this book I thought it sounded so interesting. It’s such an intriguing premise. Unfortunately, it fell short. It started off well but after Kay’s death it massively slows down with a lot of chapters just about how Phoebe is feeling. Then it gets bizarre. The middle has a side plot linked to the abduction but there’s so much going on (including two different cults) that it gets confusing and doesn’t really add anything to the story. The pace picked up at the end and everything is explained but it was a bit disappointing to find out I had already worked everything out. It was a bit of a chore to finish and I only did because I wanted to know what happened

I thought this book sounded really interesting but it was a bit dull. It’s pretty slow paced. The chapters from the killers past slowly reveal why he is the way he is but I really didn’t enjoy the narrative trying to make me feel sorry for a guy that stalks and murders women when they don’t love him back. The different girls got a bit confusing too. The chapters from the detectives POV didn’t really make sense until near the end of the book as he wasn't involved and they didn’t add anything to the story. The ending was very odd as well. I did, however, love Laura’s character and I thought she was pretty badass and the meanings behind the flowers was an interesting addition.
