This isn’t something that happens very often, but the TV series was a hell of a lot better than the book. Neither Villanelle or Eve were particularly well written. There seemed to be a lot of descriptive filler which made it a tad boring and it ended on a pointless cliff hanger. The main plus is that it’s a short read so I got through it pretty quickly. I'd definitely skip the book and just watch the show though if I was you.

Connie wakes up in a Psychiatric hospital and is told she committed a terrible crime. She says she can’t remember a thing.

The book switches between the past and present and we gradually discover what Connie did. When we know the what we get to find out the why. It’s packed full of emotion and brings up the question of whether everyone has a breaking point.

Even though Emma, the psychiatrist is extremely unprofessional with a messy personal life, I did enjoy the relationship between her and Connie.

If you go into this expecting a psychological thriller, you might be a tad disappointed. I really enjoyed it, but it definitely isn’t a thriller. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly fast paced either but it did keep me engaged.

I love the Josie Quinn series so much. I think the first and third books are my favourites. This one didn’t quite grip me as much as those two. However, it is still a great read that kept me guessing the whole time.

Lisa Regan really knows how to write a gripping storyline. I honestly had no idea where it was going and who had done it. The last plot twist was a bit much though and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

I find Noah and Josie's relationship a bit odd and Noah is a bit of a knob in this book but I’m definitely still rooting for them. I also love all the other background characters and getting to know them more. The characters are all so well written and the mood is set perfectly. You just get sucked in.

I highly recommend reading the series in order as it definitely packs more of a punch that way but they can be read as stand alones. I recommend checking them out though. Definitely a firm favourite of mine.

This is book 3 in the Frost Easton series but you don’t miss out on many major details if you read this as a stand alone. I personally preferred the first 2 books but this one was still a great read. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it when I started reading but I soon got sucked it.

The crooked street is written well and is full of twists and turns, most of which I did not see coming. There are a few lovable characters including Shack the cat. I honestly didn’t know who to trust and I was suspicious of pretty much everyone. It does finish on a bit of a cliff hanger which I know a lot of people dislike but it definitely made me excited for the next instalment.

If you love your books full of corruption and deceit and love to be kept guessing then I definitely recommend checking this one out.

I wanted this book to be so much better. It kind of just relied on graphic sex scenes, taking drugs and a bad portrayal of BDSM and Poly relationships. There’s very little consent and Julia seems to be uncomfortable with most of it which makes it an uncomfortable read.

It started well and was funny and entertaining but it soon went downhill. It’s like the author couldn’t decide what genre she wanted to write. It definitely isn’t a rom-com. Halfway through it switches from funny to just sad. You get to read along with an abusive relationship mixed in with uncomfortable BDSM practices which is not what I signed up for when I chose a rom-com.

With regards to characters, the only ones I actually liked were the minor background ones. The main characters weren't particularly likeable including Julia which was disappointing. I wanted to stop reading but I also wanted to see how it was going to end. It ends nicer than I expected but it's finished up in about 5 pages.

What if the bogeyman that haunted you as a child was real?

20 years ago 4 kids go into the woods to hunt for The Bone Keeper. Only 3 return.
When a bleeding woman is found in the streets claiming to have escaped The Bone Keeper the police are sceptical. DC Louise Henderson isn’t so sure it’s just a myth though.

I have mixed emotions about this book. It is dark, creepy and twisted. It starts with a bang and sucks you in.

I found the middle a bit lacklustre though and the various POVs and time periods made it a bit confusing to keep up with. It was however all tied up in the end and made a bit more sense. Although, I still have some questions about why Lousie was so terrified of The Bone Keeper.

I found all of the characters a bit flat and I was not a fan of Louise. I did enjoy how the scenes were set though and you could really feel the fear and how eerie the woods were

That being said, I did really enjoy the creepy childhood bogeyman element of the story. It did make it a chilling read. I also was desperate to know who or what The Bone Keeper was and I thought the ending was pretty good. It wasn’t rushed and explained some of the previous chapters. All in all, it’s not my all time favourite book but I did enjoy it and would recommend giving it a read if you love a creepy plot.

I didn’t realise this was the second book in the series and after reading a couple of chapters I went and bought the first book so I could read it first. I would definitely read them in order because the second book definitely ruins the twist of the first. It helps you understand Josie's distrusting character as well. I also enjoyed Hold my Hand more than this one. That being said Keep Her Close is still a great read.

I did guess who the bad guy was but it didn’t ruin it too much. It added the suspense of when everyone else would work out who it was. It has a bit of a slow start which made me want to put it down but once it got going it really sucked me in. It's really well written and I hope there will be more to come.

I accidentally started the second book first and I definitely recommend reading them in order because it takes a lot of the suspense out of this one. That being said, even though I knew who had done it I was still hooked and the could not put it down. Hello 3am reading

It is such a tense and dramatic read and is written so well that you feel every emotion along with the characters. You get to witness some of Josie's personal life but it adds to the story instead of distracting us and it really adds to her character.

The story is consistently fast-paced with an explosive ending. It is such a great read and I highly recommend you check it out.

YA is not my usual kind of book but as someone with a chronic illness, I had to give it a read. I am all about having more Chronic illness/disability representation out there especially more stories that don’t revolve around that person being cured because that isn’t real life.

I actually really enjoyed this book and I thought it portrayed being a teenager with a chronic illness really well. It showed how difficult everyday things such as getting up and dressed can be as well as how hard we have to fight for accommodations and decent health care. I loved that there was more to the story though. Her illness was just part of her life and she was still a "normal teen" with an interesting plot.

I found some parts hard to read having been there myself but it was so great getting to see Ricky grow and adapt. I think this is such a great book for any young people struggling with their diagnosis. It shows that it’s okay to ask for help and that it can get better.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I only realised after I finished that I have read the 1st but have somehow missed the 2nd. I could’ve sworn I had read it but I will be purchasing it ASAP. I have also read all of Pauls Heck series which I highly recommend.

As with most of Paul Finch’s books I found this one a bit of a slow starter however once it got going it was impossible to put down. It is a fast paced, action filled book with all the twists and turns you could ask for. Lucy is such a likeable character and her relationship with her father adds so much to the story. The villain is way more twisted than I ever expected and everything about the storyline sucks you in further. I also absolutely adored Sister Cassie. Definitely one of my favourite characters

If you love edge of your seat reads then check this one out. Preferably the whole series
