Cassie is a bisexual goth mortuary technician. Phyllida is a straight laced detective and Cassie makes her question everything. After working a couple of cases together they’re still not sure where they stand with each other. I need more of Cassie and Phyllida together because we keep getting told they are attracted to each other but I don’t really feel any chemistry. They don’t seem to spend much time together at all. I do like their complete opposite vibes though. The case kept me guessing as well. I thought I’d been clever and guessed the twist but boy was I wrong. It also shows what it’s like for a woman working in a male dominated career which adds to the tension.

This book had me instantly hooked. It is a dark storyline but I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know where the missing mothers and their children were ending up. The investigation into the missing mothers is made more complicated because no one is allowed to talk to the police. There are so many terrible characters that the suspect list keeps you guessing. The ending is a tough read and you really feel the fear of the characters because it is written so well. I think I held my breath for a good few chapters because I had no idea how they were going to get out of their predicament.
You don’t need to have read book 1 but it does help explain the issues between Eve and her family. Eve is such a badass character and this book shows her mental strength. Her team are amazing and I love getting to know them all more. I hope we get to see more of them.

This is a fast paced f/f romance with some spice. Both Lacey and Wil are lovable characters which makes you root for them from the start. They are both strong, independent women with very different living situations but have both suffered loss. There are so many adorable supporting characters and I loved Lacey’s relationship with her found family. It was so sweet how they all rally to support her and show her she’s not alone and that family doesn’t have to mean blood.
As a horse girl, I love a book with a horsey element and I was a huge fan of the rodeo setting. It was described so well that I felt like I was there. Brittney was a great villain and anyone in the horsey world knows that some horse girls can be mean. I found her supposed redemption arc wasn’t fleshed out enough to make it believable but she was an entertaining addition and provided the angst needed.
The end felt a bit rushed especially as so much of the book is focused on the finals being Lacey’s dream. However, the epilogue ties everything up nicely and was the perfect ending.

As a horse girl whose horse was bred from an incredible endurance horse, I had to read this. Unfortunately for me, my disability means my body isn’t cut out for that amount of hours in the saddle. However, endurance is such an incredible yet underrated sport. This book makes you feel like you are along for the ride. I knew endurance riders were tough but this shows you just how badass they are. I love that it shows the reality of equestrian sport and how the horse is the most important thing. It really shows the highs and lows and the dedication needed to be successful. Sanoma’s love for her horses really shines through and Goobers story was quite the rollercoaster. He sounds like a gem of a horse. I also really enjoyed seeing her family. What an incredible way to grow up. Definitely recommend if you love horses or want to know more about horses.

This is my first book from this author but I will definitely be checking out more and I look forward to the next book in this series. I loved this book and I read it in 2 days. My favourite thing was watching the friendship between Maggie & Eva grow. They are both so strong and badass but they have troubled pasts making them more human. There are some great side characters as well and I have never been so stressed about the welfare of chickens. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen but I was kept guessing until the very end. There are plenty of twists and turn to keep you hooked. Highly recommend, especially if you are a fan of true crime podcasts.

I’m not sure the title of this book is particularly true. I love an enemies to lovers book but this is not one of them. There’s very little conflict or hatred to make them enemies. They have a few disagreements but they’re all minor and relatively polite. There was also a lack of tension between the two. It felt like they didn’t actually spend that much time together so I didn’t really feel the chemistry. The bookshop is adorable but I needed more Bali. It sounded like you’re usual cosy English book store. The book's saviour is that there are some amazing characters and I adored Celestina. I also think a lot of people can relate to Clare and not knowing what to do with your life. It’s an easy read for summer but not one of my favourites.

This is a fun romcom that definitely made me laugh. I enjoyed the grumpy x sunshine where the woman was the grump. It made a nice change. Also, Chris was just adorable. There are also so many great supporting characters that add some more entertainment.
I did find the time jumped around a bit. Some chapters with not much happening seemed to drag and then others told us that an event was happening and then skip to after. I wanted to see more of Mae and Chris together because the love felt a bit sudden and I didn’t feel any sizzling chemistry.
However, I did love that the 3rd act drama wasn’t drawn out and was dealt with in a pretty mature way. Also a huge fan of a plus size main character which wasn’t a main plot point.
This is a cute closed door romance with a lot of laughs along the way. Each chapter also starts with a cheesy pick up line which was a great touch.

I can’t believe we’re on book 11 of the Will Trent series. Sara Linton and the Grant County series is what got me hooked on gruesome crime thrillers and they are still an incredible read. Now don’t get me wrong I did love this book but the graphic rape scene descriptions were a bit much. I know Karin Slaughter doesn’t shy away from a gory murder and I normally love a gruesome book but there were several scenes that were an extremely uncomfortable read. It is obviously well written and makes you feel so much empathy for the women. It also shows how difficult it is to get justice for sexual crimes. So definitely bear in mind triggers if you were thinking of reading this book.
As for the rest of the book, it was a great read. I loved getting to see more of Faith and her family. She’s such a lovable character. Amanda was also adorable with her wedding help. It was interesting getting to learn more about Sara and her past. The story is packed full of twists and turns and extremely well written characters. There were so many villains that I didn’t know who to hate more. The explosive ending was still a surprise though.
