I love the cover of this book and I’m all for a sassy plus size lead in a romance. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. Both characters had a massive chip on their shoulders. They both blamed their families for not being there for them when neither of them made any effort to talk to them. Sebastian was beyond boring. We get introduced to a load of characters in the first chapter and then we don’t learn anything else about them. I didn’t really understand why the hell they had sex when and where they did when they waited so long. Plus Sebastian's sex talk didn’t seem to match who he was as a person. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. I hate the stereotypical 3rd act breakup and this one was next level. The ending didn’t really do it for me either and Farren’s big reveal came out of nowhere. Just felt like another plan that she didn’t really think through. The book could’ve been so much shorter and I ended up skimming a lot as it was overly descriptive and their inner monologue got repetitive.

The premise of this book sounded right up my street but it just didn’t work for me. I liked Hope and I’m always a fan of a clever and gorgeous plus size protagonist. Unfortunately, I didn’t find Mitchell particularly likeable and I really struggled with how he kept referring to Hope as his woman when her barely even knew her. Also thinking about her curves and how attracted he was to her when he was rescuing her and then his grumpy possessiveness when he didn’t really spend any time or even talk to her was a bit of a red flag. I didn’t feel much chemistry between them and some of the sex scenes were super cringey. As for the plot, there’s a lot of telling and not showing. Very little actually happens apart from insta love followed by an extremely dramatic 3rd act breakup that didn’t make much sense for the characters.

This is book 2 in the Benevolence series but the first one I have read. From other reviews, I can see that worked better for me as I’ve seen that there is a lot of repetition between the two. I might go back and read book 1 at some later date when I’ve had time to forget what happened. I really enjoyed this book. I love a small town romance and this one was cute with Score’s sprinkling of spice. Gloria was badass and I loved seeing her realise that and allowing herself to grow. I also loved the disability representation and showing that life doesn’t end and you can still do so much. There are some great side characters to fall in love with as well.

Wow this book was a wild ride. When the first chapter chucks in a twist you know it’s going to be a good read. I did find it a bit confusing to start with and there are a few characters that it took me a while to get straight. However, once I got into the flow I couldn’t put it down. I had zero idea where it was going and every time I thought I knew what was what, bam another twist. There are some gory scenes and some graphic violence but it’s not forced for shock value. The psychiatric prison is the perfect setting and makes it so much creepier. The suspense was kept up until the very end and it was one of those books that I had to take a second when I finished to process what I just read. The reveal does seem a bit far fetched, however, I enjoyed the ride so much that I didn't care. This is the first book I’ve read from this author but I will definitely be checking out more. Highly recommend if you are looking for a psychological thriller.

Don’t Swipe Right is a lighthearted fun crime read. I didn’t find Gwen particularly likeable, there was just something slightly annoying about her. However, her sarcasm and sense of humor did make me laugh. Who doesn’t love an awkward date story that you didn’t have to suffer through yourself? For a light fun read, there were more twists and turns than I expected and I didn’t guess who the killer was. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Gwen and the main love interest but I still enjoyed the ride.

This is a nice easy romance read with a touch of spice. It’s a friends to lovers with a brief fake dating to give them a push in the right direction. I found both Lexie and Robyn lovable characters although we don’t seem to get to know Robyn as well as Lex. It was refreshing to read a couple that actually communicates. However, that does mean there’s less drama so if that’s your cup of tea maybe skip this one. I loved the demi representation and it was done in such a good way that it wasn’t the main plot point. Same as with Lexie’s ADHD. We get to learn about both and see Lexie finally understand herself and her actions. It was a cute read that I finished in a day. It’s book 2 in a standalone series and I will probably check out the first book.

I loved this book. I forgot how much I love a Nora Roberts' book. She gets the perfect balance of thrill and romance. Gavin is a terrifying bad guy. The amount of damage he could cause with the identity theft added so much suspense. We obviously know who the bad guy is we just don’t know what he’s going to do next and how he’ll be stopped. I was hooked.
Morgan is badass and her family were adorable. Her changing relationship with her ladies was as enjoyable as her romantic relationship. I liked that we get to see her have a pity party and then dust herself off and grow so much stronger. Miles also has an incredible family and there are so many lovable characters. I would love to get to know more about Miles's siblings. Nora Roberts really knows how to set a scene and I could picture the gorgeous hotel and bar perfectly. If you like a bit more grit to your romance then I definitely recommend this one.

I love Helen Phifer and this series is so good. We’re on book 9 and it’s still such a great read. Morgan and Ben are adorable and there are so many amazing characters on her team. It was so fun getting to see a different side of Theo and Ettie always makes me smile. I love that we get to enjoy parts of the teams' personal lives as well as the gritty hunt for a killer. As usual, Morgan attracts trouble and has to fight hard to solve a difficult case. I did work out the twist but I was still on tenterhooks to see how the team would work it out. I was a bit shocked by the ending though in that it seems to end so abruptly. I would have loved to learn more about the killers motivations. Also a small note, the blurb doesn’t quite match the story. It says that Morgan receives a death mask and immediately recognises it but that definitely isn’t what happens.

The whole premise of this book is my least favourite trope, miscommunication. This story was just crying out for everybody to just talk to each other. The perfect couple breaking up because neither of them spoke to each other about anything important. This plus a group of friends who are constantly lying and coming up with elaborate plans to save their friendships instead of talking to these people who have supposedly been best friends for years was just frustrating. I also didn’t feel much chemistry between Harriet and Wyn and none of the characters acted like they were in their 30s. That being said this was still a fun and easy summer read and I was rooting for everyone to kiss and make up. The scene setting is also done beautifully and I desperately want a holiday in that house. I definitely preferred book lovers but I would still read more of Emily’s work

This was such a cute romance. It’s a nice quick read with a bit of spice and I blasted through it in one night. It will make you feel all of the emotions and was the perfect blend of the joys of love & relationships and the hardships of life especially in the limelight. We get to see both Eden and Anna grow and discover more about themselves and who they want to be. It also shows the realities of toxic families and gives a look at coming out later in life.
Eden and Anna compliment each other well and watching their relationship grow was beautiful. I also loved how great the communcation was throughout the book minus the one blip. I wasn't a huge fan of the conflict but it did add to the relationship and it wasn't overly drawn out. There are also some great side characters and I definitely want to be a part of their friendship group.
