I love this series and even though we’re on book 15 now it’s still as gripping as it was at the start. The whole team is made up of great characters and I really enjoy getting to know them more and seeing them grow with each book. I think Penn and his brother are my favourites. Normally I’m not a fan of books where you know who the bad guy is but this one gave an interesting perspective and still had enough twists and turns to keep me hooked. I’m not sure how I feel about Alex being back though. She is a terrifying villain because she’s so damn clever but there are only so many times Kim can be mentally taken to the brink. I recommend reading these in order just so you have the backstory of certain characters. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I love this series. Nikki is such a great character and her love for her family is enjoyable to read. I definitely recommend reading these in order so that you get the character's history, especially as to why it’s so difficult for everyone that Rory is a suspect. There are so many lovable characters and the grizzly murders had me hooked. The fast pace and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book but I loved it. It’s the kind of thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat and reading well into the night. I’m not normally a horror girl but I love Caroline Mitchell so thought I’d give it a go. The supernatural elements work so well and amp up the creepiness. We all love an urban legend, which makes it 10x scarier when it turns out to be true. There were so many twists and turns which had me hooked. I loved Sarah’s character and her history really adds to the drama. Does she remember that fateful night correctly or did something else happened? Can she really trust the old memories of a traumatised child? I also adored little Elliot and I think he might be my favourite and his chapters gave me goosebumps. I’m really looking forward to more from this series. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
This book is fast paced full of twists and turns and had me hooked all the way to the action packed ending, especially with the suspense of whether they’ll find Sara in time. If you like your crime thrillers to have a dramatic ending then Helen Phifer is definitely the author for you and if you’ve read the rest of the series you’ll know Morgan has a knack for finding trouble. I really enjoy this series but I’m still not sure how I feel about Morgan and Ben. They’re cute but also the age gap and him being the boss just feels wrong. However, I do love both those characters and there are some great secondary characters. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I'm so intrigued by cults so this series was always going to be a winner for me. I did go back and make sure to read book 1 first and I would definitely recommend reading them both just to get more of Abby's history. Plus I did prefer book 1. I found this one a bit slow to get going and some parts of the hostage situation dragged, but it is still a great read that kept me engaged until the end. I had no idea how or if they were going to be able to diffuse the situation.
Abby is such a badass and her daughter has obviously inherited some of that. I enjoyed getting to see more of her family. We also got more of an insight into the Wilcox cult and it's leader as well as how difficult it is to get out of a cult and what she had to go through as a child.
I really hope the ending means we are getting an Abby Mullen & Zoe Bentley crossover. I definitely need more from this series

A great series which I recommend reading in order. Bernie is such a great character and I loved that we got to know her more in this book. Her personal life is a bit dramatic but that doesn’t take away from the story at all. She’s pregnant but isn’t sure who the father is and her current boyfriend, DI Anderson, ends up in a bit of a mess at work. When it seems that both of their cases might be linked things get complicated. Politics get in the way and Bernie isn’t sure who can be trusted. The case had me hooked until the very end and I did not want to put it down. I look forward to seeing more of Bernie as she is one of my favourites. She also has a great team and I loved the addition of Leigh, an autistic officer. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
