A fun fake dating turns into true love romance! This was such a heartwarming and emotional story of heartbreak, healing and love. I really loved that this one was about an older couple (in their 30s) and both were well established in their careers. Laurie was pretty badass and I really enjoyed her strong character. Jamie was absolutely adorable and they were so much fun together. I love how McFarlane’s books always focus on self discovery and healing. It’s a theme she writes well!

A fun friends to lovers meets fake dating/fake engagement story with lots of heart!

Why have I waited so long to read this series? I devoured this on audio today and it was just such a fun read. Lauren Layne writes with so much humor and heart. Loved the underlying theme of friendship here and bonus fun points for Audrey being an IG influencer. Not sure why I started with the last book in the series but now I can’t wait to read Naomi and Claire’s stories. This series gives off all the juicy drama filled, sexy romance, strong female friendship, Sex in the City vibes and I’m here for it!

This was harrowing, dark, emotional and absolutely unputdownable!!! It deserves ALL the stars!

Will Dean takes us straight into the disturbing, evil world of human trafficking and enslavement and it's brutal. You will never be able to forget "Jane" or the cruelty and horrors she endured. Jane is really a young Vietnamese woman named Thanh Dao who along with her sister, Kym-Ly, arrive in the UK in the hopes or work and a better life only to find they have been conned. Instead of the promised life of work and freedom Jane is held prisoner but in her mind and heart, she is never enslaved. I LOVED Jane - what a fighting spirit! She had such a sense of determination and strength in spite of the daily horrors she endured. I was riveted, rooting for her all the while my heart broke for her.

This is not a book to be entered into in lightly but it was absolutely amazing. I listened to this on audio and I felt transported into Jane's world. There were parts that gave me goose bumps and parts that made me want to cry because it felt so real. A highly recommended must read!

I am a C.J. Tudor fan! She knows how to get me hooked.

Reverend Jack Brooks is not your typical Vicar. I loved her and her 15 year old daughter, Flo. Transferred to Chapel Croft, on an interim basis, the two are greeted upon their arrival with replicas of the Burning Girls-twig dolls made each year to commemorate the Sussex Martyrs-eight villagers burnt at the stake during Queen Mary’s purge of the Protestants, which are set alight annually on the anniversary of the purge. Chapel Croft was such an eerie town. It gave me such a feeling of unease, as did the townspeople. It was like watching a horror movie when you want to yell at the characters - just get out of there!

The story takes a bit to get going, but as the pieces begin to come together I was drawn in. There were so many moments where I was doubting everyone, wondering what the heck was going on. With burnings, hangings, ghosts, spooky scenes in a graveyard and skeletons in the cellar there was enough to keep me on edge even though this is not a fast paced read. The supernatural element was very well done and really added to the overall eeriness and mystique.

Thank you C.J. Tudor for another great read!

This book was wholly unexpected. It appears to begin one way, delves into something else and then morphs into a whodunnit! I was not expecting this at all but in the end I thoroughly enjoyed all it had to offer.

This might be touted as a beach read but I always find people equate that with a light, fluffy book. The commentary on body positivity and self esteem in women in this book is real, relatable and touching. Loved the reminder that you really don’t know what is going on in people’s lives behind closed doors and off social media. Plus, I was certain that I knew whodunnit and I was pleasantly surprised when I was proven wrong.

Throughly enjoyed this multi-genre book and am looking forward to reading Weiner's latest summer release, That Summer.

A YA psychological thriller about a 17-year-old girl who is trying to cope with life after escaping 7 months of captivity

Told in alternating, then and now timelines, we experience Jane's pain, confusion and struggles as she both copes with captivity and then freedom. Enjoyed how this covered both aspects and just how hard both were for the victim. Freedom from captivity doesn't mean a happy ending and this book depicts that well. Everyone wants Jane to go back to being the Jane she was "before" but Jane is struggling and knows she will never be the same. The experience has left her forever changed and she must figure out who she is now, in the "after".

Jane's experiences are heart wrenching and her struggles are so emotional. The author really drives this home with all her experiences and it just broke my heart. Jane Anonymous is a gripping story of a young girl's emotional journey from being broken to becoming whole again. Highly recommended to readers of all ages!

A cozy mystery with death, a touch of romance, lots of Filipino culture, a strong sense of family and so much yummy food!⁣
