I can't think of many people I would recommend this book to, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's not an easy read - the main character is not likeable, but she is real. Brutally real. And so somehow I found myself able to connect with her, even though I couldn't really sympathize and certainly wouldn't want to know her.

The sex scenes were well written, and I typically hate sex scenes. Again, I think the theme here is honesty. The sex felt realistic, human, earthy.

Finally, the depiction of the mental health was, in my opinion, well done. It may not mirror everyone's experience with depression, addiction, or suicidal ideation, but it touched on aspects of those experiences that many of us can relate to.

It just wasn't working for me.

Definitely a few things that I disagree with, but overall this is a well-balanced, informative book and I am excited to put these suggestions in place at home.
